Billy “Boy” Salinger, a recent graduate of Yale, is a newly promoted account executive at one of the most prestigious advertising agencies on Madison Avenue in New York City. His first real responsible assignment in life is to supervise a pharmaceutical account announcing a new laxative. But things in the world of advertising and business and living in the Big Apple are not what Billy had envisioned before relocating from the rural landscape of his hometown in Massachusetts. He soon finds himself disillusioned about his new ascension to success and begins to question his purpose in life. At twenty-eight, Billy experiences the adversities of an early mid-life crisis and ensuing nervous breakdown…
…nearly taking all his five friends down with him.
Addison, Billy’s roommate from Yale fraternity days who is a multi-millionaire and owns a penthouse on Park Avenue, is a tax attorney who likes to party and will eventually experience a life changing near-tragic end; Lorraine is a former supermodel who is going through her own angst with a rebellious teenage daughter; Kate Moss, a look-a-like to the real supermodel Kate Moss, is having an identity crisis and struggling to become a film director; Gary, a childhood friend of Billy’s is a successful artist inflicted with a life-ending disease; and Charlie, Billy’s supervisor at the agency, is being forced into early retirement.
