On a hill top in north central Israel an archeological team of professors and students work to excavate and study the ruins of a once mighty crusader castle dating back to the twelfth century. the team is led by Dr. David Bishop, a quintessential English scholar from Cambridge and Dr. Miriam Kunderstrum from the University of Pennyslvania. The story of their summer work turns when the local villagers discover a problem with their well. As scientist the team agrees to investigate, after being joined by an unexpected addition of another archeologist, Dr. hartmut Behrens of the University of Berlin. What they find in the well, a cache of ancient weapons, turns the project on its ear. The weapons cannot be explained and the team, working with their computer expert, Max Benjamin, struggle to fine answers. Each test leads only to new questions. The mystery of the arms from the well and from the castle can only be answered by the strange Dr. Behrens.
