I really liked this short graphic novel sharing four stories of Doctors 10-12, leading up to the announcement of the 13th doctor. It was nice seeing those doctors in action again, and saving the day with very little but their wits and skills, and the help of their companions. Fun easy read for Doctor Who fans!
Felt more like a FCBD collection of shorts rather than anything else, without much time to cover our cast at all. Rather lackluster despite some of the issues having quite a lot of action...my favorite moment was the Doctor, Nardole, and Missy in a lift, and the latter contemplating a grisly arts and crafts project.
I've not seen anything with the Thirteenth Doctor and am not really interested to. (I'm actually behind anyways and haven't caught up with the Twelfth Doctor.) However, this book is not really about Thirteen and I guess has some stories that kind of lead up to her story line. The stories themselves are about Ten, Eleven, and Twelve. Although they are very short, they are pretty good. Each incarnation gets two stories, one with a companion and some odd adventure and then a smaller one that have s...
This is my first experience of a comic or graphic novel & I bought it for myself as a small pick-me-up; I really enjoyed the illustrations in the comic & it was nice not having to picture the aliens like I have to when reading a Doctor Who novel. I think I wouldn’t enjoyed it more if it were a continuous story rather than three separate ones but I loved having an extra scene from my favourite episode! I’m definitely interested in getting more of the comics, especially 10 & 12’s (I’ve also got th...
A 1.5. This was so short and painfully awful. The coloration of some of the art was unappealing and flat. The stories reduced the companions who were mostly women to “what’s going on, Doctor”, “what should we do?” and “what’s the plan?”, as if their thoughts were nonexistent. I was hoping for a short storyline on the 13th Doctor, but there was nothing. It sucked.
This isn’t quite the what it’s advertised to be. The Thirteenth Doctor doesn’t appear at all. The thing that links this volume to her series is the recurring presence in the backup stories that take place during “The Girl in the Fireplace,” “The Power of Three,” and “World Enough and Time.” The longer one-shot stories are not the ones with the connections, but they were enjoyable. I thought it was funny that the Tenth Doctor refers to Gabby and Cindy as Artoo and Threepio, and that the Eleventh
A good if not totally necessary little collection made to grab some more scheckels from your pocketbooks.the 10th,11th and 12th Doctors each feature in short unconnected tales, then after each story a small 3-5 page piece whereby each doctor encounters a mysterious gateway with a hand extending through it and a ghostly voice cries " Grab on, I can't hold..." and then fades away. Each Doctor soon forgets this odd occurrence and continues with their next adventure.Much ado about nothing, a good li...
The Road to the Thirteenth Doctor consists of three short stories, one each with the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors and some interstitial pages which directly lead into the first Thirteenth Doctor graphic novel. The graphic novel is also published by Titan Comics who publish a number of tie-in graphic novels to the British Doctor Who television series produced by the BBC.The first story features the Tenth Doctor, as played on the television series by David Tennant, and his companions Gabby
Road to the Thirteenth Doctor collects three stories: one with the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth Doctor in advance of Titan Doctor Who output becoming primarily about the 13th Doctor only. In, "The Ghost Ship," The Doctor, Gabby, and Cindy arrive on a spaceship where things are going downhill fast. The artwork is decent, though the Doctor's outfit is a bit different. It's got a few spooky moments, but is otherwise a bit bog standard sendoff for the Tenth Doctor Comics team.Must like the previou sto...
Three short stories featuring the Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors and their respective comic companions, each of which captures the feel of each Doctor quite well. Nothing overly spectacular, but they all made me laugh and had a few good twists and turns to them, which feels exceptional when compared to some of the recent Who fare I've read. Also included in each issue are some four page stories set in between scenes of the TV show, setting the stage for a new story featuring the Thirteenth
In order to get readers exciting for their upcoming Thirteenth Doctor line, Titan produced this. This comic features a stand-alone story each for the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctor and then includes a short little prequel to their first Thirteenth Doctor arc for each Doctor that's set within a TV Story. For the Tenth Doctor, it's set during "Girl in the Fireplace"; for Eleven, it's "Power of Three"; and for Twelve, it's "World Enough and Time". Good art and good stories for each Doctor make
I picked up this comic as trying to give Doctor Who another chance. I’ve tried to watch the series and didn’t find it interesting. This comic was slightly interesting, but not enough to pull me in. I keep hoping that I will find the Doctor Who product that will, but I have to keep looking. This comic was just o.k. Nothing stood out good or bad and that was why I just gave it an average rating.
Enjoyable, but nothing too special. The stories were pretty short and had a pretty direct plot, but the art and colouring was beautifully done. It seems that this volume pretty much just sets up for the next volume.
A fun little in-between set of adventures, though nothing amazing. I do like Alice as a companion for the Eleventh Doctor a lot though, having read a few other comics with her, and more Bill is always good.
Good stories, but as a whole I didn't get it. Hopefully volume 2 will enlighten me.
Good run up the the 13th doctors graphic novel adventures. 10, 11, and 12 doctors fight monters in their own stories.
THE ROAD TO THE THIRTEENTH DOCTOR#1 – GHOST SHIP“Well, that’s me all over. Always the spanner in the works!” – Tenth Doctor#2 – THE STEAMPUNK CONUNDRUM“As an anachronistic steampunk/automation?”“John Smith, aka the Doctor. Scotland Yard.”#3 – TULPA‘The Future is Female’ t-shirt by the Doctor“Imaginations from the Planet Kar-Is ‘The ones who could sculpt dreams.’”
The only thing that ties this to 13th doctor is the few pages after the main story is over. The three stories have no connection and are truely stand-alone stories of 10-12 Doctors.
Fun collection 0f stories featuring the 10th, 11th, and 12th Doctors. Nothing very special but still enjoyable.
Three short but sweet stories about the three Doctors before Jodie Whittaker. It was nice to see Arthur the horse again!
