This line is super fun and I'm enjoying the heck out of it.
Go Go Power Rangers is like my go-to when I want to read something light, fun, yet with a lot of heart. With Rita evil ass on a mission to find a special mission we have poor Trini and Jason transported to a new world. A world in which they change not only their suits (So Jason is yellow ranger, Trini is Red Ranger) but can read each others mind. Jason finds out Trini is in love with him, while she finds out something is happening with Jason's father. On the flipside Zack and Billy trying to fin...
This volume started with an unexpected change in art. I know it was just a simple take over by artist Eleanor Carlini, but it felt symbolic of the change of tone and character progression that came in this vol.And the character progression was rife in this. There was Skull surprisingly being proven to be a gentleman and, of course, as all the readers by this point had been waiting for, Jason and Trini's relationship coming to a head. The mysterious planet and murderous aliens were the perfect ba...
Great plot progression with excellent character development.
This is a review for Go Go Power Rangers Volumes 4 and 5, since they're basically one long story split into two, the same way as volumes 1 and 2 of the series were. I'm also assuming Volume 5 includes the Forever Rangers one-shot that ties up the story. The focus on the early days of the Power Rangers continues here, as the team continue to feel out exactly what roles they play, as well as their relationships with each other, which blossom in some surprising ways.Meanwhile, writer Ryan Parrott gi...
So much yes! There’s a ton of character development across the team. We get some insight into Trini and Jason’s friendship, and Kim undergoes an unexpected learning moment with Skull. Trini, Jason, and Kim each undergo moments of vulnerability that allow for deeper characterizations while Rita plots to get the green power coin. Both power rangers lines are doing an incredible job of revamping the entire series and instilling a ton of character development that makes the series richer.
This ongoing Power Rangers series continues to put the focus on the teenagers with attitude's more interpersonal and family lives. Trini and Jason are really highlighted in this volume. There's some pretty awesome panels involving their colors.Classic parts from the original tv series are shown in new light. Billy's bug makes an appearance. Zak's Hip-hop Kido! Even Pudgy Pig's defeat is the intro to this volume. Two characters that were mostly comic relief in the show get actual moments in this
This volume directly follows the Shattered Grid event and finds Trini and Jason stuck on another planet with their powers swapped. They must find Rita to discover what the villain is up to before it is too late. More awesomeness from Ryan Parrott and Boom Comics!
Update: Keeping rating on second read. With the discovery of (view spoiler)[ the green dragon coin (hide spoiler)] it seems we are nearing the end of Go Go (in fact, they recently announced the final issue) but I am still enjoying this series. This volume mostly focuses on Trini and Jason being stuck on a remote alien planet with Rita, and their Red and Yellow coins have flipped resulting in Trini being the Red Ranger and Jason the Yellow.Overall, a fun volume with a nice payoff near the end star...
'Go Go' grows the beard with this story arc. Now that it doesn't have to set up character dynamics or tie-in with the Mighty Morphin comics, 'Go Go' is breaking free from having to be JUST a prequel title. Thanks to time travel shenanigans from the crossover event, 'Go Go' can still follow canon events from the original TV show, BUT it can have its own way of getting to that point. The Rangers will still have to deal with the 'Green With Evil' storyline, but this volume of 'Go Go' was just an en...
Reading any of the Go Go PR graphic novels/comics makes me so nostalgic! Obviously, this series is a lot more personal and the stakes feel much greater than the TV show, but I love getting to see a modern take on characters I grew up with. I was kind of wondering when/if this series would get to the point of the Green Ranger. I’m excited to see how that turns out.
Yesssssss!I love this series! Read it! You should read it! How many more words does this review need? Two more.
3.25(???) stars. Mind-reading and rangerswap was very fun.
3.5
Read as individual issues.A pretty good arc, with good examination of the team dynamics and some new and exciting backstory for the Green Ranger/Dragon Power Coin. Parrott’s writing was, as ever, outstanding, and the art continues to be fantastic. Just wish the story had run a bit longer, as the final issue felt rushed.
