Well this was a lovely little tale of a man and his fetish for beautiful hands. But they all changed in the final few minutes. How far will a person go to satisfy a sexual fetish?
I wasn't too impressed with the start, but I suppose it was necessary exposition. Once that was out of the way, I thought the story was strong; it only gather pace as it progressed. The author lulls you into a false sense of security, before blasting you with a shocking--yet totally logical--climax.
An Interesting short audible story

First of all, I would like to say that I love the writing of Priya Sharma. She is a very good writer and in this text, I realize this through the construction of the suspended in the narrative, her descriptions of the environment of the caravan in the funfair, and Beth's house, and the way she manages to suspend eroticism. The negative point of this text is that it brings me more of the same in horror literature: violence, without purpose, against women. This is a subject that I noticed only in
This story had a great hook. I liked the main character and his fetish though commonplace in horror fiction seemed to have been elevated and changed enough to hold my attention. However the sudden turn to violence in the end seemed forced and unnecessary, the narrative lacking any sense of foreshadowing or atmosphere that would indicate this outcome. This one is very horny and very bloody. Damn dude, that was SOMETHING I guess.
It started out with me going, Ok, he has a particularity to his fetish. I wonder where it will take him/us?It ended with me going, That was an unexpected extreme action! And, eew. And, good way to ruin someone's perfectly gifted career-cruel.
Creeeeeepy. Not to my personal taste in horror schemes, but I loved the build up. Less enthused by the end, but I think it was a pacing problem for me, not just the quick left into a more gory horror than I anticipated. A longer build up of tension in the artist's house would have been more satisfying, I think.
