After his family died, Rigs decides to enter The Zauntlet Run to achieve a better life in Arcadia. To get there, he must traverse a wild, untamed land of zombies. What he doesn’t realise is The Zauntlet Run is a sports game show created by GAZE for the Arcadians.

This book is told by two perspectives.

Rigs is a Distopian farm worker who longs for a better life. All of Rigs’ family has died and he is struggling financially. His future looks bleak. His only choice is to survivie The Zauntlet Run and, become a citizen of Arcadia.
Rigs has been told he has seven days to traverse the wild lands and mindless zombies, of The Pit, in order to make it to Arcadia. Can he survive until the end.

The Zauntlet Run is a sports game show commentated by Bones and his co-host. The game was created by GAZE for entertainment purposes. The Arcadians like to wager on who will die and who will live.
After the disaster of last months show, it’s important for Bones to put on a great one, this month, for the viewers. Bones and his co-host will follow the twelve runners in The Zauntlet Run as they encounter life threatening challenges in The Pit. Bones thinks this show could be the best one ever.
