Validated quite a few feelings and experiences from my past. Examples were oversimplified but I walked away from this book with tips and techniques on how to move forward with less hurt.
3.5 stars. Debated admitting reading this one because it’s an “embarrassing therapy title”, but if it helps someone else, then it is worth it. I gave it 3.5 stars because I felt like it was a bit redundant in parts, but overall it was very affirming of my experience. There are some very good and helpful tidbits, and it is generally a “hopeful” book, even though it isn’t rooted in the gospel. Didn’t read the second/companion book, and probably won’t.
Amazing book.
