It was great being back in this world with these characters. We learn of the fate of one of my favourite characters and I really loved that this was included as well as Rayla coming to terms with the unknown fate of her parents and Runaan. Rayla and Callum are the cutest couple.

I love The Dragon Prince show on Netflix so obviously wanted to read this but I did tread with trepidation. But I shouldn't have worried because this is great, from the art work to dialogue to magical story telling. Callum, Rayla, Ezran, Soren, Lujanne, Phoe-Phoe all make an appearance. The story progression is after the third season so I do suggest watching the Netflix show first otherwise you'll be left wondering what's happening and you might not like it. I think that you may have to watch the series to understand what's happening because the events take place after season 3. It'll explain things like Phoe-Phoe, for example. Wish it was longer, and of course, I wish that Callum and Rayna were just besties.I also read it in like 10-20 minutes, that's how short it was.

So, is this going to be considered part of the show canonically? I guess we can only wonder, until season 4 comes out which BETTER NOT BE THAT FAR AWAY *exasperated sigh*Anyway, Rayllum is adorkable as always, we love Ezran and his animal sensibilities, and the themes of death, life, dying, grief, etc. always hit home. Plus the art was decent, so yeah.

When I watched the Dragon Prince cast narrated the first few pages of this graphic novel at a Comic Con panel, I knew I had to read this. It does not disappoint. The artwork is really good, the story is as magical as ever. Phoe Phoe is adorable. I wished my fave character made an appearance but she did not. It being too short is my main and only criticism. Now I'll need those next four seasons, please.

Not rating this because I realized it's from the animated series which I haven't watched before, so I felt a bit lost but that's not the graphic novel's fault! The art style was really beautiful, but not going to continue the series!
