I got this in anticipation of the movie and the cover art is ♥️. I'm only read issue #2 because I already bought it....
Storyline is solid and the art is fantastic!
Really nice first issue. I’m really hooked in for this story now. That double splash page when Widow was fighting security with the ballet styled fighting was amazing. Plus this book raises some intriguing questions. Can’t wait for the next issue.
3.5/5. A thrilling start to this series, with some open questions and not a lot of answers. The art I'm undecided on - there's a very beautiful spread of Black Widow fighting that's ballerina-esque, but there are also a few pages where she looks awkward and stiff. This is just kicking off so it's hard to say but it has potential to be a great look into Black Widow's character. The ~vibe~ of this reminded me of Name of the Rose .
I'm still riding the high of the Soska Sister's No Restraints Play but this definitely has potential!

TONY: What do you need me to do?NAT: For now? This will do. 79/100
Pretty good start for this miniseries! I was hoping the creative team from Black Widow: No Restraints Play, would return, but Jody Houser as always writes a pretty good story! Look forward to the next issue!
I deeply love Natasha Romanoff, and I will read Black Widow comics until I die. However, I do wish that writers who attempt to write Black Widows series at least try to bring a fresh or interesting perspective to her character. I love the Chris Samnee run because it shows the emotionally complexity of Natasha and how she goes about trying to wipe the red from her ledger. I love the Mark Waid run because it lets Natasha be the star of an action movie. I'm not sure Jody Houser's The Web of Black
For a series built on one of my least favorite storylines ever, this is a pretty solid comic. [I'm sorry but I just cannot STAND the whole 'Clone+Memories=SamePerson' thing. It's kind of degrading to the character who died and is just being replaced.
Well finally after reading several of the Black Widow collections, I am getting on board this series from the start. I guess I missed the collection where Natasha was killed and then brought back as a clone with "restored" memories. Seems like a easy way out to kill heroes and just like that bring them back. But the story seems well-writen and I am looking forward to see how Natasha can redeem her past.
This was an ok issue. Pretty standard comic art style, and the story line is interesting enough to continue. I enjoy that we gotten see more of Natasha backstory explored a bit and see the small cameo of iron man but beside that I didn’t have much of an a opinion for it.
Great opening to the series! I love this art style of Nat so much, excited to see where the storyline goes
