This book is my villain origin story. DNF.
3.5 out of 5. If you liked Forget Me Not by QB Tyler, this is similar (but without the amnesia).
beautiful emotional readSo I am gonna be honest, I planned to skip this one. Then I read about John's brothers and decided to give it a go. Potential spoiler: this book deals with infertility and infidelity.I thought it was well written. As someone who has dealt with infertility, the author definitely captured the pain that comes with it.This was a beautiful story about two broken people coming back together and I loved it
I did rate the story 3 stars...but only because I rewrote Mona’s life in the 4 year separation differently in my head (meaning, I gave her a life!) So then it worked for me. But then I remembered I don’t like Harper, and that she is the keeper of her brother Heavy’s balls, so I dropped it to 2 stars. I remember liking Nickel’s story, and Charge’s story was okay, but I don’t know what happened to this one. I’m gonna re-read Nickel’s one because I haven’t rated it on here...and maybe that will tak...
Meh. This one was fine, but seriously boring for me.Back in my reproductive days, I knew my way around a miscarriage, and for that reason, I could empathize with the h and her depression. Infertility and pregnancy loss are a bitch. The book did give some glimpses of the deep darkness that can accompany such losses, but I still wasn't feeling it. I also wasn't feeling the split between the H and h. He never tried to go back to make a case for his dumbassery? All in all, the angst is low despite th...
So full of emotion. We get Wall's story and it's a good one. Wall is married but has been separated for four years. 99% his fault. Yes Mona had checked out emotionally and was a mess but most women would have too. He went too far and didn't try to fix it. There's never an excuse at least in my mind. He gets one chance and it's a tiny one but he does everything right this time but they have so much riding on it and it could be gone any second. This was a shorter book in the series...novella lengt...
I love cheating romances when done right and I really enjoyed this one. I felt that John was truly remorseful after cheating. He blames everything on his cowardice and he doesn’t try to sugarcoat or rationalize his actions. He really, really messed up and then he completely threw in the towel. The best apology is to change your behavior and he truly did. That 4 year separation was brutal!I hated that Mona let herself go. I wish she would’ve been a bit more pragmatic, but I loved the book. It had...
