4 stars Cate C Wells has become an author I’m always gonna read. I just love how funny, witty and so well put together the writing is. You truly get a sense for the characters, the setting (small town and its quirks) the side characters, the social commentary which is neither in your face nor so subtle you can miss it - it was just perfect. This book was not what I expected AT ALL. From my recollection - in the previous book, Cash was really someone I’d have gladly punched once or fifty times.
If you would have told me a week ago that I would--- not tolerate, not like, but obsess over a hero that had ✨testicles hanging off his truck✨I would have laughed in your face. But good lord, Cashel Wall had me swoonin' like no other. This book was over-the-top good. It had no right to be this good. It's been days and I'm still thinking about it 24/7. I didn't think it was possible for an author to recreate the unique feeling of a red-neck, back country small town, but not only did Cate Well...
This book was a wonderful surprise. I had expected a traditional bully or an enemies-to-lovers story. But it was so much more than that. I loved Wells' writing... authentic characters, witty down to earth dialogue and a rich description of the ebbs & flows of Cash & Glenna's growing relationship. "Bully" Cash was great with wary Glenna...over time treating her with caution & support in every way. A special book boyfriend. Also want to mention the mountain setting outside of town where G & C hung
This was fabulous this author keeps on delivering consistently and I haven’t read anything yet that I haven’t liked. This is the second book in the Stonecut county series and features the younger brother Cash from the previous book. And what a pleasant surprise Cash turned out to be. I adored him obviously he’s not completely perfect but from prior exposure, I wasn’t expecting him to strike such a chord. I definitely went into this having some prior preconceptions regarding his overall character...
they frankly had more chem than kellam-shay but i still liked the 1st one better. it had more (close to) angst
REALLY enjoyed this one. The hero bullies the heroine through high school (and after) but the way it plays out is done so well. He turns out to be the nicest guy!!! Such a good guy hero. I loved her too. Highly rec
I keep coming back to this story in my head and I really did enjoy it so much, despite Prickly Glenna's actions. I can't quit thinking about it, so I'm going to bump this baby up to 4 Stars. This wasn't a bad story at all, in fact if Glenna hadn't been so freaking prickly through the entire story, this would have been a full 4 Star story for me. Pricky, bitchy, stubborn to the point of being annoying heroines are my pet peeve, and Glenna definitely annoyed the hell out of me. She wasn't a straig...
Cate C. Wells' Stonecut County series has really grown on me. Cash reminded me of a huge St. Bernard puppy that couldn't get out of his own way when it came to all things Glenna and I loved him all the more for it. This would've been a five star read for me but Glenna never really endeared herself to me.
Oh, happy sigh! I have the biggest goofiest smile on my face because my new book boyfriend Cash Wall is so freaking amazing 🥹Cash is a simple man. He's a popular, easy-going people person that everyone from grandmas to animals adores. He loves hunting, fishing, his dog, his family, and Glenna Dobbs. Too bad she has no idea and also hates his guts. So now that she's finally single, he sets out to change her mind. Oh, reader, it's the most magical thing to watch him stumble and bumble his way into...
I know it's an ARC and that sometimes colours reviews but I really, really liked this book.Dual POV.It's a sort of bully romance without the malice and dark side. He's so sweet, totally all about her.He was around when the heroine was friends with his sister, Dina, but he takes pulling her pigtails to a whole new level.Ex drama in form of ex boyfriend, not wanting her back just around in her life, they work together.HEA.Epilogue.No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.Bit slow burn.
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Trope: enemies to lovers/opposites attract Angst: 😱😱Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥Triggers: noneCash "Truck Nuts" Wall has been Glenna's long time bully. Always pulling pranks and getting everyone to laugh at her expense. That's what makes it so strange when Cash steps up to be her fake boyfriend as a buffer to the folks in town when her dad's newspaper goes after one of the most loved community members. I can't say enough about this story! The storyline was cute and fast paced and the character de...
