I KNEW THAT IT WAS ABOUT JACKS!!! (I was way off about the title being Encore lol) BUT I KNEW THAT IT WAS ABOUT JACKS!!!
To put it simply, Once Upon a Broken Heart is a hot mess. The premise promises a fairytale, but what Garber delivers is a confused nightmare. With an annoyingly-naïve protagonist, a one-dimensional cast of supporting characters and a truly “what the fuck”-inducing plot, this book’s only saving graces are the short chapters and fast pacing, which at times can too be a hindrance to your enjoyment and desire to rate this book higher than you actually will. The beginning chapters of this book are the...
this book is pure magic! it's a beautiful story that directly speaks to my fairytale-loving heart. AND JACKS omg. you are going to love reading every second of this wildly imaginative ride. xoxo
Oh my FATES is this one good!!! I don't want it to end!*Edited after finishing* Well hell, did this just become 0ne of my top reads of 2021? Why yes, yes it did. Holy book gods, this one was mother fricking GOOD!!! The twists and turns, the love story, and okay hel-lo intricate magic system. Seriously, the part of this book that I feel like is going to get overlooked for the (legitimately awesome) romance and action is the freaking MAGIC SYSTEM. No one does magical details like Stephanie Garber....
I’m going to leave it at 3 for now because I can’t decide yet 🤔🤨Omg! This book is stunning!! This Fairyloot edition is amazing!! Click link to see it and the goodies. I better be loving these characters!! https://melissa413readsalot.blogspot....
A fun and whimsical read following a hopeless romantic, this really did just feel like a whirlwind of whimsy. I can’t say I adored it - it all felt a little too convenient and happy-go-lucky to my liking - but fun is definitely the word for it and it’s easy enough to fall into. Would also just note that to me this read on the younger side of YA, for anyone wondering.
**Why do I keep forgetting to say: got this on NG**This is a difficult book for me to … well … review seems a strong word for what I do, since it mainly comprising burble forth some random opinions. In any case, I requested this on NG because it was shiny. The cover was beautiful, the title was intriguing, the blurb was engaging. But, embarrassingly, I knew nothing else about what I was getting into. Which says far more about me than the book, because the author is a massive phenomenon in YA. It...
5/5 ★★★★★ “All stories are made of both truths and lies. What matters is the way that we believe in them.” If I had to describe Once Upon a Broken Heart in three words, I would say magical, tricky and heartbreaking. Nothing's entirely what it seems, and I absolutely loved that. Can someone explain to me how am I supposed to wait a whole year for the next book?I wasn't sure what I would find, but I got so caught up and fascinated page after page that I had to restrain myself from devouring it i...

I thought I was done with this book, AHAHAHAHAHAHA. This book was so not done with me.|Rating: 💔💔💔💔💔 4.7I've been waiting and waiting... and waiting, for the right words to come out of my mouth and splatter across the keyboard, to describe all the different emotions this book brought out of me. I felt loved, hated, tearful, frustrated, blessed, infatuated, obsessed, sad, angry and if I had all the time in the world (let's face it, even if I did, I would be all, THIS BOOK WAS IUGFCDXERFTGYHUIJKJN...
This is my new favourite Stephanie Garber book! I loved this book SO much. Now to wait until autumn 2021 so I can fangirl with other people.
4.5/5 “I’d give you the world if I could. The moon, stars, and all the suns in the universe. Anything for you, my heart.” I did not expect to love this so much. I really enjoyed the first two Caraval books and their whimsical atmosphere and magic. I never could get into the last one though, but this book was really perfect and I found myself not lost at all. You truly don’t need to read Caraval to love this series. This book opened up a bit unexpected for me, right before the events of Legend...
Typical of Stephanie’s style of story telling, Once is beautiful, lyrical, fast paced, surprising, romantic and filled with twists and turns. Jacks is... well, he is everything you want him to be. This book solidifies Stephanie as one of the most creative and imaginative story tellers I’ve ever read and I can’t wait for others to read this MAGICAL book!
WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THAT I WON’T GET ANY ANSWERS WITH THIS BOOK???I have to wait a year (or more) for the sequel now?!? This is pure torture 💔💔💔💔😭How am i supposed to wait now… why did i read it so fast omg
