I've been looking for a good Dragon shifter series for a while and I'm really hoping this is it. It really has some great promise, the main heroine started out so strong willed and feisty. She's obviously been burned by him. Specifically the main dragon Anthony, but we get to learn how in the first chapter. Obviously Skye doesn't know the whole reason from the start. I really enjoyed the fact that both of these characters are very driven they decided to make something of themselves. There are a
It was ok. Not as good as the 2nd and 3rd book. On Anthony’s 16th birthday party, he invites human friends and dragons to. He dances with his best friend Sky and when he kisses her he realises that she’s his mate. His dad who is alpha sends him away from her and for 18 years doesn’t see her or contact herI know as a dragon that Anthony had his reasons for leaving her. But personally I don’t think I could have forgiven him as he then barely spoke to her for weeks. Straight after telling her she w...
Giving her what she needs This author has a way with dragons that make me wish for one of my own. I enjoyed this second chance romance! The emotions are so real and raw that I felt like I was a part of the story. The characters are fantastic and I enjoyed the back and forth as these two found their way back to each other. Even the animosity from a select few, and the connections with the friends enhanced the reading experience. This was an amazing story and I can’t wait to see where the author t...
The epilogue with Jace and Bri being fated mates looks like a cool intro to the next book, but it didn't make sense for Jace not to know Kaylee's and Bri's names when they have been hanging out in his bar and he's made sure they've gotten home safe before.
Anthony and Skylar were childhood friends. They couldn’t remember a time they weren’t together. But on his 16th birthday, Anthony’s dragon lets him know that Skylar is their mate. His father is not happy about his son being mated to a human, so he sends him away. For his part, Anthony has no communication with Skylar until he returns to Bluewater some 18 years later. He still loves Skylar and wants to make things right with her and pursue her. They face the typical obstacles; his worry that she
Where is the revengeOn some level I know it's not nice to want revenge on people but in this book it's builds you up for the wrongs that were done only to basically let it all go and no one really has to answer for past wrongs. I hate that!! And 18 years.....come on! I just felt like it was less plausible to make it be that many years later. That's to much time and frankly it made me not want to read it because of it. I really hate long stretches of time like that in books and this is by far one...
Well, I should have quit this one partway through.I was looking for some fluff to read as a break, and I do like Roxie Ray in terms of fluff. But I hadn't picked this one up because it's rare that I like a second-chance romance. For it to work for me, I have to feel like the wronged party isn't spineless, but rather, has the self-respect to demand better. I have to feel like the party who committed the wrong learned their fucking lesson and would do things differently if they could do it over. I...
Technically DNFI read through as much as I could before I started skipping ahead. All I have to say is awful. Just awful. The big bad is just a jealous woman (talk about an overdone trope) and she didn't even have a true reason to be jealous. The MCs had the hardest time communicating like adults, the H running off for this and that instead. Just no substance here. I'm sorry I wasted my time.
First time reading this author’s work and it was a great story. Funny, tender, some tears, some hurt and anger but connection. Also an issue with a jealous women, Tessa, she’s a constant thorn. There is a part that is also focused throughout the book the medical condition that Skye has that I live with and it’s a painful subject to handle especially with seeing other women with kids or being pregnant, it’s very painful to want something only to find out that God didn’t want us to be good enough
I really liked this book.I’ve read this authors Black Claw Dragon series, there are a lot of similarities, but it definitely has its own feel. Skye and Anthony have history. Childhood friends, who grew closer as they got older. One kiss when Skye was sixteen, it was electric, they both felt it. But three days later, Anthony is telling her goodbye, and moving out of the country.Broken hearted, confused and angry, Skye is determined to move on. Eighteen years later, she has a career she’s proud of...
There was a lot about this book that I didn't like. First, as much as I appreciate the fact they were teenagers when they left, I think both Sky and her dad could have given Anthony a harder time upon his return. Typically, I don't read 'second chance' romances but i felt like this would be different because it wasn't neccesarily his choice. On that note though, Anthony seemed fine with his parents even though they kept him separated from his fated mate for almost two decades and continued to go...
At his sixteenth birthday party Anthony found his mate then his parents sent him away as she was human. For his sixteenth birthday Dragon shiter Anthony insisted that it be both Dragon shifter and human so he could celebrate with his human friends. When he dances with his best friend Skylar then kisses her he get a burning pain in his arm and knows what it means that his mate mark is developing. His parent feel what is happening and once they realizes it was trigger by a human they send him to a
Anthony and Skye had been friend from a young age. When he turned sixteen his parents were having a party for him and he got his parents to let him invite his human friends as well. At the party he kissed Skye and his arm started to burn. When he looked the tattoo mating tattoo had started to appear. As soon as his parent saw they asked everyone to leave and soon after he was sent to a school in London. Then to University in the USA He qualified to become a surgeon. Then his father decided to gi...
Okay story and characters. This story is a typical romance where the main love interest happens to be a dragon. It was written fine, but honestly I found the story to be a little predictable and boring. Skylar the main lead was a nuanced character who you can root for, but also did not make the main lead work hard enough to earn her trust. I don’t see how you can automatically fall back in love that quickly (even with the benefit of being mates). Anthony was a somewhat boring character and he di...
He just knew ...by and1515Anthony had wanted to share his special day with those who mattered to him and he'd over the moon when his parents let him invited all of his friends. Then something unexpected happened changing everything an he couldn't stop what followed. But now his Father had insisted on retiring and he was called back to take his rightful place. She hadn't seen him since they we teens and now they worked at the same hospital. The last thing she wanted was to deal with her ex fiance but...
Wow well I thoroughly enjoyed this dragon shifter read. I’m unsure why it had negative reviews but I’m glad I ignored them. Anthony knows he’s meant to be with Skylar even though they’re only 16, fate doesn’t lie, and one kiss is all it takes for the mate mark to present itself, unfortunately being human is not a trait the current alpha of the clan wants as a mate for his son, ripped away from all he’s known and Sky by the alpha command he breaks both their hearts, until 18 years later, when Ant...
First off- this is a trash read. Not that I have anything against them, but I do like knowing beforehand choosing to read one. There is no depth or emotions for reader. It is a typical fated mates trope with typical big bad in the form of jealous chick. Shallow and very, very predictable. Simplistic. Still, not a bad read. The beginning is actually the best part of the book- there writing is better, there is some suspension building in just a couple of pages. If author would have continued in th...
This is an example of when a writer has no ideas. Every cheesy, cliché and over-done scene appears in this book. There is the girl getting drunk and the hero taking her home but not putting any moves on her scene, the shout from the rooftop because you’re having a bad day scene, the stepping into the heroine’s personal business and trying to assert your ownership and dominance over another scene. It’s so tired and passé. You have the cliché “villain” which is just another woman who thinks she wo...
Awesome start to a new series by Roxie Ray!!! I’m not a huge fan of 2nd chance romance books, but with Anthony and Skylar’s story, I didn’t care lol. I was hooked from the 1st chapter! I truly never knew what was going to happen, and I loved being surprised! I just found Roxie Ray a few days ago after reading the first book in her Intergalactic Exchange Program series (you want to read, trust me), and Roxie is already in my top 5 of must read authors! It doesn’t matter if it’s aliens, or dragons...
Way better than I expected! This is my first time reading this author and the book was better than I expected.Anthony's father is a dragon shifter clan alpha. When he turned sixteen they found out that his fated mate was a human and it was forbidden for him to be with her. They sent him away. Years later he returned to his hometown. Skye was best friends with Anthony. They had one kiss and then he left and moved away with no explanation and no contact between them. Now she sees him at her job and...
