Great bookI've really enjoyed the series and learning more about the mulstiverse. I like that there is a ton of room for growth and other adventures with how big it is.
I like the fact that nearly every near-death battle results in a synergistic advancement for Zack. His enemies only serve to strengthen him.
This one developed well on the first one, and I liked this one a bit more; enough for another star, anyway. Lots of stuff going on. Not so much that it loses focus, but you can see Zac starting to realize how stretched he's going to be to maintain his position. He does delegate the city stuff pretty effectively, so he's smart enough for that at least. It kept my attention to the end, and I'm interested to see where it goes.
Rating 5.0 stars A great continuation of the series. Zac has to deal with a lot more things now. He has to try and find his sister and to do that he needs to be stronger. He is one of the strongest people in the world but that doesn't make things easier, sometimes it seems to make things harder. He has to deal with the demons that are with him that he can't really trust but has no other options. He has to deal with other people in the world who are all vying for power, especially the government....
I wish there was more on Kenzie and Emily. Kenzie's love interest is the superstar Emma, and Emily just ends up dominating everyone and kicking ass! That would be the perfect book. LOLBack to the regular review and not my wishful thinking...This was a trip! After being betrayed by his ex-girlfriend, only to find out she was hypnotised and then blaming it on his current love interest. Zac's just gonna be all powerful and ALONE. Boys are dumb.
POWERHOUSE. We need a thesaurus here stat.I lost sleep reading this. So good.
This is an audiobook review. I am already up-to-date with the web novel but I decided to tryout the audible version. I wasn’t disappointed. What a narrative performance by Pavi Proczko! Especially Ogras, he added more of a slimy quick witted opportunistic feel to the character. The world building was expanded and Zac has even more pressure on his shoulders. Overall a great book, and I can’t wait for the audiobook of the 3rd instalment.
Book 2 picks up right at the end of book 1, as Zac works on increasing his levels and skills while Port Atwood prepares for the third wave. This book has a lot more variety in it, but suffers a bit on pacing. We have a few dry spells where Zac is focused on a particular skill or growing his Dao, and there is also a bit of head hopping as we see different perspectives from friends, enemies, and others. There are a lot of enemies here. There always were, but now it's amped up ever higher. I'm going...
Review of books 1-3: Fabulous. One of the best (if not THE BEST) in this "real world" apocalypses genre. + The worldbuilding is just brilliant and unique making it interesting from get go. + The magic system is refreshing and well structured. + very interesting plot that keep me guessing all through the 3 books I've read. + Writing/prose is very engaging and never slows down. Exciting ride all through. + Characters are good (but could do with more development). After reading brilliant series lik...
Such a great series. This book starts off slow and you are left wondering how it would match the first one. It comes through and leaves you wanting more. Highly recommend this book.
Extremely disappointed. This book seems to go out of it's way to highlight the inadequacies of the main character, and oh boy are there a lot. His gullibility, lack of planning, reactionary attitude, and complete lack of leadership potential are just a few. The city building aspects are skipped or just rushed over. The combat is boring. The cultivation is continually made overly complex, with more constantly added. What was a series bursting with potential was turned into a hodge podge of mediocr...
This books has many pros, but far more cons. First the pros. Overall the story is interesting enough to keep reading until the end. The main character is constantly fighting to improve himself as the world around him struggles to survive. I found myself eager to see what skills or abilities he would learn next, but the good ends there. The writing is sloppy. It’s like having a movie with killer action but bad acting. His word selection is limited as he reuses the same words on ever page. It didn...
What an awesome journey! This book was so much fun. Zack is extremely op but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment as he keep finding challenges. You never really get the full satisfaction of him rampaging against weaker opponent so it's always keep you wanting for more. The world building and Adventures... They were really fun to watch as they unfold.
I finished book number one and then jumped on Royal Road to find more. I devoured the remaining 500 chapters that were out there. I absolutely loved the story. This is one of the best LitRPGS out there!
3.5 stars
So far this was just a rinse and repeat of the last book. Zack is still just another murder hobo and the author giving him the last boring class just starts reinforcing it. 1 ) The world and universe is still has not been flushed out.2 ) The CW Drama between the "girls" in Zacks orbit needs to stop, I call them girls because they don't act like women. It's just distracting and doesn't do a damn thing for the story. 3 ) His sister is now additional plot armor for Zack and a second brain to Zack's...
A fun read.Another great book that has kept me engaged and entertained with the story as the MC slowly grows in power
