2.5 stars rounded upI absolutely loved A Spindle Splintered! But while I had fun reading A Mirror Mended, I feel very "just okay" about it and don't know that it really added much to Zinnia's narrative arc. The concept is cool- Zinnia falling into a Snow White story with a hot older woman as the "evil queen". In theory that could be great, but I didn't feel like this formed a cohesive story, and I was left wondering why THIS was the way we continued things. After having left Zinnia with a satisf...
Waiting more than 6 months for less than 200 pages is my least favourite type of math.
PLEASE TELL ME SHE'S GOING TO FALL FOR THE EVIL QUEEN
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the requested advance copy for review. All opinions are my own. You know how some stories seem to be made exactly just for YOU? Alix E Harrow’s books all feel like that for me. I adored A Spindle Splintered. This was a cute follow up story. The snark, the side comments, the meta-commentary are all so amazing. The story itself didn’t capture me quite as much as the first one, maybe because Zinnia was separated from Prim and Charm and I had loved them. But...
ARC received. Thank you so much, Tor!!!I am so excited to dive into this one. We're having a blizzard this weekend...this could be it!! I'm so happy.Original:This cover = EVERYTHING.I can't wait to get this next Fractured Fables installment! Who knows, is there going to be more?!
THERES A SEQUEL?!!! excuse me while i beg for an arc of this
Initial ThoughtsThis was fantastic! Zinnia has seen every Sleeping Beauty story there is in the multi-verse and she has helped them all find their own happily ever after. She is getting kind of bored of the whole thing when she sees a new face asking for help in the mirror. But this isn't the protagonist. It's the villain. It turns out that there might be more to this evil queen than the story suggests. I loved Zinia's voice and the thread of humor that wove its way through the story. This one w...

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.By this point, we all know how big of a fan I am of Alix E Harrow. I am self-appointed president of her fan club. I’ve read and loved each and every single one of her works and A Mirror Mended is no different.A Mirror Mended picks up a few years after A Spindle Splintered ended. Our beloved witty and sharp-tongued protagonist Zinnia Gray has been spending her newly allotted time Spider-versing herself into cou...
Oh, this was lovely - a wonderful ending to the duology that started with A Spindle Splintered. It's sharp and resonant, compassionate, emotionally powerful, often very funny (I LOVE the bickering-in-the-face-of-danger banter between Zinnia and the hot wicked queen!), and bittersweetly romantic (although not quite a romance as defined by genre rules).I loved every minute of it, and I love this duology of novellas SO much.

I’ve been ecstatic since I saw the announcement of this book because I had assumed A Spindle Splintered was a standalone but I’m so glad this exists. And I just had to read it as soon as I got my arc because how can I wait. Did I just forget how funny and snarky the first book was or did the author just take it all up a notch, I don’t know. But the main character Zinnia’s internal monologue as well as most of the things that come out of her mouth are very sassy and outright hilarious. She is ofc...
Thank you to Macmillan-Tor/Forge and NetGalley for providing an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. The book will be published on June 14th, 2022.Book two in Harrow’s Fractured Fables series continues the adventures of Zinnia Gray — a self-professed “folklore major with a significant Grimm obsession” — hopping around the multi-verse helping young fairy tale princesses cursing their cruel fates. In the five years she’s been adventuring, she has never managed to escape the
