What a fun, little novella that explains the night that kicked off the entire series!
I would sell my kidney for Jeff's POV on the night things changed with Nina
3.5 ⭐️ A fun rewind to the beginning, and an interesting insight into the night that changed everything. If you’re a fan of the series, you will enjoy this quick prequel. Is it necessary to read? Not really. Was it interesting and enjoyable? Yes.
This is an interesting book to talk about - it's a short novella that takes place before the events of American Royals (book 1). This was a really fun time because I love this series so much, but it was also... odd. So, I was lucky enough to read an early copy of American Royals III: Rivals a few months ago, so my perspective on this may be different, but I'm not sure what this novella is meant to accomplish other than getting people excited for book three, since it was originally a duology and
Too short, need more 3
A cute novella with characters I absolutely love!
I enjoyed this book! If you liked the selection series by Kiera Cass you’ll like this
I got this early via audio from my library, and while I do appreciate the insight it gave into Beatrice and Nina, I don't think it added anything to Daphne's drugging of Himari or Samantha in general. It did introduce a character in passing that looks like will be a key player in Rivals.
I love this series so I was excited when I saw the prequel available from Penguin Random House audio. It was fun going back to the beginning of the series as I anxiously await book 3!Thank you PRH Audio for a complementary audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
A royal party gives us a peek into a night of secrets & scandal.👑 In this prequel to American Royals we return to a time before the drama in book one begins. To a time when Princess Beatrice was besotted with her royal guard, Connor, Princess Samantha was still sneaking out of crazy parties for even crazier adventures and Prince Jefferson was admitting feeling for his childhood friend while his girlfriend was suppressing her feelings for Jeff’s best friend. All of these events we heard about sec...
Thank you to PRH Audio for the complimentary audiobook. These opinions are my own. This was so good. I have been thinking about re-reading American Royals and Majesty before I read Rivals. This cements that I will re-read the whole series in order. This novella takes place on Jeff and Sam's graduation night. If you have read the next books, you know what an important night that was for the following stories. Getting to read about it in real time from each of our four women's perspectives added so...
Book 53 of 2022In March 2021 I engrossed myself in the world of American Royals. With the first book, I was in it, really. But then in the second book, I was hooked -- it was SO GOOD. Then, the "ending" happened and I was devastated in so many ways. It was not a complete story, and there was no way @KatherinMcGee could leave us like this. Then I gave a resounding CRY of JOY when the third book was announced. I truly cannot wait to see how this story is going to be wrapped up because there are so...
I know I'm not the only one who about lost my mind when the third book for American Royals was announced. Book two was so good but that ending made me want to strangle a certain character we all love to hate. Dipping my toes into this world again through this novella was the delightful listen I had to have to get back into the swing of things.Katharine rewinds the story to the night everything seems to shake up for her cast of characters. She explores in more detail the driving factors behind ea...
A short, but long-awaited insight into the night that changed everyone's lives and put in motion all the events that took place during book one and two of the American Royals series. I'm a huge Beatrice and her bodyguard's forbidden romance - their brief storyline was definitely my favorite. This is a perfect snack to get us all ready for the upcoming Rivals and the finale of this highly entertaining series! Great on audio narrated by Brittany Pressley!!
I can’t even put into words how happy I am that we finally got the full story of what happened That Night™This was so great.
I loved this prequel novella. Short but interesting. We learn more about THE night. (+ you can read the first chapter of the Book 3. I can't wait !)
ALC received from LibroFM, thanks!3.5 starsI have really enjoyed the first two books in this series and will definitely be reading the third when it comes out. I was excited to see this novella, and that it takes place before any of the books. However, it feels kind of weird… Mostly because I know how these relationships end up after the second book, and I’m not really sure why we needed to have them sort of rehashed right before the third book comes out. Is it some sort of foreshadowing for the...
Princess Beatrice of the Washington dynasty is in college and also being groomed as America's heir apparent, attending fancy soirées with her father King George. Her twin siblings Prince Jefferson and Princess Samantha are hosting their high school graduation party at the palace while their parents and boring older sister are away.Princess Beatrice has a budding friendship with her Revere Guard and sneaks into the front seat of the car after leaving an event in the back seat where the heir belon...
A useless prequel that reestablishes character dynamics that we already know intimately and retells the story of a night that has already been fully explained in the main series. Truly feels like it was written in three hours.
