Uneven, never great, a real disappointment given Cable's potential at the time.Sinsear (Cable #5). Marginally better than the first collection. This one shined a bright, sunny clear spotlight onto some dark and dusty corners of Marvel Universe. There's all this stuff in Cable's history that I knew that had happened but I'd never experience first-hand in detail. So that was pretty cool. An interesting collection of stories. We learn a lot about Cables history and ties to the Summers clan in Fathers and Sons. We have a great story featuring Omega Red, the Acolytes,and Colossus, which was a solid read. And we finish off with some more history of Cable being unveiled by Belasco as Cable and Lee Forrester team up. I have mixed feelings about this volume. The first arch, that FINALLY clarified Cable as Cyclops' son, and Stryfe as the clone, was good. And the Omega Red/Acolytes story worked better than I expected. But then a weird story in Flordia and Limbo (can't decide which is worse). I hope Fabian Nicieza comes back to the book soon. 3.5 stars
The volume begins to really develop the future/present Cable, a man of different times mythology, as well as featuring the classic 'Father/Sons' story arc. There's also Omega Red, the Acolytes and Belasco. 6 out of 12 sees an improvement on the first volume. Collects Cable #5-14.
