In spite of its short history, the beautiful city of St. Petersburg is a magnificent place where culture and art are revered by locals as well as by the numerous visitors. The Hermitage Museum is housing many unique collections from past centuries and modern times. To absorb it all, a visit there requires much time. Walking on the large boulevards and through a beautiful park is very enjoyable. Cruising on the Neva and Volga takes you to many historical places where one gets better acquainted with this country's distant and recent history. Kizhi Island, the village of Kirrilov and Uglich are memorable sites to visit. Moscow's many monuments and museums are abundant and one has to make use of the time available to grasp all that can be absorbed. The St. Basil cathedral, the Red Square, the Pushkin and Tretiakov museums are few of the most interesting places to visit.
