The JESUS Bomb: A Hiram Grange Story

The JESUS Bomb: A Hiram Grange Story

Scott Christian Carr
3.3/5 ( ratings)
Welcome to the scandalous misadventures of scurrilous boozer and malcontent, Hiram Grange. Though afflicted with a laundry list of dysfunctions, addictions and odd predilections, Hiram Grange stands toe to toe with the black-hearted denizens of the Abyss and dispenses justice with the help of his antiquated Webley revolver and Pritchard bayonet.

THE JESUS BOMB is a great place to dive into The Scandalous Misadventures of Hiram Grange series of books and stories. A stand-alone short story, THE JESUS BOMB is set a few years after events depicted in the book Hiram Grange & The Twelve Little Hitlers and just prior to the novel Hiram Grange & The Twelve Apostles.

Hiram is up to his old trick and vices when his malignant reverie is interrupted by none other than Jesus Christ. At the 9/11 Ground Zero Memorial. With a nuclear bomb strapped to his chest.

The wonderful thing about the Hiram Grange series, is that you can dive in anywhere - different works by different authors provide unique perspectives and self-contained stories! Hiram Grange: there has never been an Antihero quite like him!

REVIEWS FOR SCOTT CHRISTIAN CARR'S HIRAM GRANGE:

More fun than a barrel full of Hitlers... The best novel since Don Quixote!"
–Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment and Creator of The Toxic Avenger.

"In The Village of the Damned - Grange's first outing - we were introduced to Hiram's addiction, in Twelve Little Hitlers we are dragged by the scruff of the neck, nailed to a seat in the front row and forced to bear witness, up close and personal, to the point where the horror is not so much propagated by the demons of the tale, but by the demons all too prevalent in life itself.

"A masterful, commanding piece of fiction, Twelve Little Hitlers is a must for ardent horror fans and contributors to the craft, alike."
--Dave Jeffery, BookReview.com

"Hiram Grange is a kinetic tour de force... I can’t say enough about the writing style... It’s descriptive and poetic, hard-hitting and emotional... The world is painted in wild, but controlled strokes."
--Nancy O. Greene, Dark recesses

"A shocker that begs to be read in one sitting...
--Nate Kenyon, author of THE BONE FACTORY and SPARROW ROCK

"Scott Christian Carr’s wickedly tantalizing prose is positively addictive. Hiram again finds himself immersed in delicious worldly sin as he saves mankind from evil and loses himself to the drug-induced fantasies... The wording is smooth and the humor, sneaky, satisfying both the bizarro lover as well as those that desire the darkest fiction."
--Jessica Lynne Gardner

"Twelve Little Hitlers walks the tricky line between gut wrenching horror and almost terroristic black comedy. Its violent wonders are imaginative and plot driven. Scott Christian Carr goes for Weird and Funny and never settles for pointless or easy gross-outs. Hiram Grange, the disaffected, alcoholic protagonist, is at once pathetic and heroic as he chases down his unenviable destiny. A great read, with enough laughs and thrills to satisfy even die-hard horror fans."
--Michael Boatman, author of The Revenant Road and God Laughs When You Die: Mean Little Stories From the Wrong Side of the Track; Actor, Warehouse 13, Spin City, Arli$$, Hamburger Hill, Gray's Anatomy

Somewhere in the Underworld, Lovecraft is grinning with delight and Hunter S. Thompson is raising his bottle high. You won’t find a darker, more twisted character than Hiram Grange.
