Charles McElroy was living the dream of the typical suburban kid in the 1960s. He had loving and successful parents, a beautiful home, and was looking forward to a very bright future. However, Charles father got caught up in a con mans financial management scheme and in the blink of an eye nearly everything that his family had worked for all their lives was gone. The stress and loss was too much for his parents and Charles watched as first his father committed suicide and then his mother plunged in to a dark depression that eventually took her life as well. With no one left and nowhere else to go, Charles travels to live with nearby distant relatives, only to discover that the very man who was resposnsible for the severe losses in his life is living across the street.Charles has never been a vindictive or vengeful person, but the re-emergence of the con man brings his anger and resentment to a boil. Though never having attended college, like he had always planned, Charles is smart and creative and through an elaborate scheme he launches a scheme to avenge his parents deaths and his miserable existence.
