The Hoven Institute

The Hoven Institute

Chris Hill
0/5 ( ratings)
Kia Skora is going back to her old job. She doesn’t like her co-workers that much, but the money is good. The job? Hunting monsters. It sounds glamorous, if your idea of glamor is broken bones, long nights on steak out and bad coffee. But it is better than selling shoes.

Kia wants purpose again. She wants action. She wants to feel like she is making a difference in the world.

The old team all get back together and are moved out into the country, finding themselves in a sleepy little town that is much more than it seems. Old emotions return as they meet again for the first time in years apart, and although there is camaraderie, there is quiet tension.

Katie Anders is a six year old who just lost her Granddad. She dives into a world of fantasy and make believe to help her deal with the pain, but only to late does she discover that her fantasy world is very, very real. Katie struggles to understand what is happening to her and the world around her as her unconscious power builds.

Kia struggles with her uncertainty and pride, unable to decide what is the right cause of action. Does she capture and doom the child to dissection in the company labs, or ignore her and risk dismissal from the only job she has ever been good at?

When Katie’s nightmares become too strong, powered by the child’s fear and anger, Kia must act decisively, bringing herself and Katie into direct conflict.
