And one man, the Saganian Olle Varelius, injured in a mining accident, undertakes a new career collating all the glass making knowledge into the five great Codices. His innovation creates the weapon of light, which could just be the saviour of the town. It is set two hundred years before the Greenstone Trilogy and provides the back-story for the events in the second, part, Thunderhead.
