Meh....
Wow! What a great book. Fiction into reality. Could and can happen today. This was my first time to read a book by Timothy W. Long, it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed and highly recommend.
Couldn't put it downThis book was great. Plenty of action throughout. The authors knowledge of firearms and tactical movements was refreshing (although he did refer to the rifles as "assault weapons" ). I cannot wait to start the second book and hope there will be a third. Highly recommend.
Great bookI really enjoyed this book, which is extremely relevant considering what’s going on this year 2020. The story is plausible and the characters are realistic. Good book. Recommended.
Woohoo! Hell l of a good read!I liked this book, lots of plot twists, do not trust the government, it's a plot! Time to get paranoid...
WowThis such a great read. I had a hard time not comparing to our current state. Although it's completely impossible right???
Great story that keeps you on your toes, I noticed a couple editing mistakes like a repeated paragraph farther into the same chapter. Overall good read.
Apocalyptic Very engaging story. Enough action to keep you turning the page but not so much that you feel as of you cant keep up. Very much a Trump presidency vrs Antifa scenario. One that we have seen on streets everwhere minus the bloodshed. But who knows this could be a foreshadow of what comes next....
This has motivated me to become an urban prepper. Only the prepared and strong will survive anarchy. Thanks to Trump, radicalism and racial and religious intolerance is on the rise. Anyone who doesn't fit the mold established by Hitler will be victimized unless prepared. I, for one plan to do so.
I liked this 1st book. and looking forward to next one coming out this week. Crazy world we live in !!!
Straight out of the headlines comes something different from Tim W. Long. Nice first edition to a new series set in an America that if fictional...or is it?
I love military/war books and this is a great one. This is a character driven story that could be ripped from the headlines with the trouble brewing in the US now. What will happen next to Bradley, his family and his brother James who serves in the National Guard, terrifying things to come I'm sure. Now on to the next book in this series.
Drums of WarI did not expect this book to be that great. No monsters or zombies, but it was a fantastic read with human monsters and a believable future that is scary in its own right. Looking very much forward to the next part in this series.
Good post apocalyptic fictionGood read and can't wait for number two so that's always a good thing some of the terminology was a little off but I think that was the Navy experience of the author bleeding through to his characters in the Army.
A very enjoyable read, held my interest cover to cover!I'm a big fan of Mr Longs writing and was very excited to see he started a new series. Drums of War did not disappoint me in the slightest. Some very good characters are evolving here and I cannot wait to see where the author is leading us in the next book. The story is believable in so many ways these days as the world is such a turbulent place. Unlike others I see a similar connection to Hitler in the early 30's or many other leaders who w...
This was a good book with a plot that comes right off todays headline news. An incompetent president and power behind the throne. There are some good sub plots and interesting characters. It is a good read, but it can be so real any day!
Action PackedI had read before but love the author and reread. It is a great read, full of action, and very interesting characters. Reading it now as our country is full of anger over everything political makes it almost chilling warning rather than fiction. Political parties in this story fight for power and use citizens as pawns. Those caught in the middle have to fight for their lives as they try to understand why innocent people are dying and the country they love is on shambles. Book 2 is n...
I actually thought this was pretty good. A few years ago I might have scoffed that American society was not so fragile as to be tipped over by some anarchists working for the government. Now, I'm not so sure so this possibility was at least interesting. There was a bit of how polarized people had become between liberal and conservative, though it is now a reality more than in the past. I will definitely read the next book in the series to see what happens.
