Practice of Statistics in Business

Practice of Statistics in Business

Yoshihisa Sagawa
0/5 ( ratings)
Japanese economy has long been suffered from depression. Many experts blame this depression on bad loan. However, I don't think so. Lack of sincere efforts for management could be blamed.
After all, it is the main cause that the stock of a product is surging due to shortage of its attraction. If many products are accepted by consumer willingly, the companies involved come to be vitalized and according to increase of these companies, Japanese economy eventually restore the previous vitality. At the same time, the elimination of bad loans will be dynamically accelerated.
In the past, all the companies enjoyed the prosperities without ever making great efforts under various protections by regulations, government, bank and so on.
However, the turbulent waves of world wide big competition started buffeting Japan and as a result any companies could not help being swallowed by this wave and making sure that protections hereinbefore began to be easily destroyed. Therefore, any companies could inevitably receive this undesirable situation and overcome this cutthroat competition. Otherwise, any companies cannot survive.
Then, how do they do?
I wrote this book in order to answer this question.
This book contains three chapters.
The first chapter treats with the basis of statistical analysis, which is indispensable for proceeding to following chapters. I intend to explain comprehensively as much as possible, avoiding complicated theory and formula. In order to more easily grasp the practical use of statistical analysis, you may skip over the first chapter, which means you refer to the first chapter involved as needed.
The second chapter treats with current status of business, which clarifies both good and bad points of current activities and eventually leads to countermeasures for next step. For this purpose, it is indispensable to apply various functions to find out something regularity. It is the second chapter that describes various functions involved. Concrete countermeasures are obtained through executing the contents of second chapter to create trial products or services.
The third chapter is described the method to compare trial products or services with targeting them. For this purpose, lots of comparison methods are described in third chapter. Repeating to create trial products or services for this comparison may finally lead to the expected product that exceeds the targeting them. Third chapter treats with various methods of statistical comparison, which enables comparison to be objective, not subjective.
In the past when the quantity and structure of such a data involved in business was not only small but also simple, which are easy to be handled, the success of company could be easily attained by personal “experience” or “feeling” even on sloppy accounting. However, at present when there are enormous lots of data and information collected by POS system or so every day, the statistical analysis by computer must be inevitably utilized in order to analyze the present situation and forecast the future instead of the personal experience and feeling.
May many people ordinarily utilize a statistical method as a business weapon and accomplish the success.
