Do otters really hold each other's paws? Cling together during a storm? Somehow I don't think so, but the art, as with all Chapman's books is splendid, here with rich ocean colors, and the concepts here of being with a friend when Mama's not there and knowing Mama will come back for you will do well with the preschool set.

Very mildly cloying text and illustrations to die for. Almost dropped dead from how cute and sweet this was. Read it to a little one snuggled up close!

I thought the art in this volume was just gorgeous. It has wonderful messages about leaning on each other in uncertain times, and does include a decent among of factual accuracy as to otter behavior. There's also a two page spread in the middle of this that is a treat for the eyes!

Beautiful illustrations and so much cuteness in the form of otters everywhere! The storyline is very simple but I could see it being a reassuring story to read before Mum goes out for the day, or when mums are going back to work after maternity leave. The baby otter is nervous, but makes a friend and they keep each other happy and safe until their mums get home. Cute!

Zoet, dottig prentenboek over de liefde tussen groot en klein. De oogjes en blikken die Chapman tekent zijn uitermate aandoenlijk! Mooie prenten in blauwgroene kleurstelling. Geen literaire parel, maar gewoon een ontzettend lief boek.

This story warmed my heart with the fuzzy little otters. Such a cute story about love and friendship and working together to face obstacles!
