Despite her resolve, Brooke has killed again. It has been six months and the furor over her fellow missing intern has begun to die down. Brooke had no choice really. The woman threatened to derail Brooke’s achievements! Now it is summer., her first year of med-school behind her. Brooke is ready for an internship. The perfect position comes up, an assistant at the morgue. She can’t wait to start. It is the perfect job for her and the pay is unusually high for an internship. What could possibly go...
3rd book in seriesMy oh my where do I begin? Let me say it is not often that I like a sequel or even a 3rd book in a series as much as the 1st book...the author knocked it out of the ballpark once again in my opinion. I'm always afraid to say too much in a review about the actual story because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. That being said I'm going to tell you to go read books 1 and 2 so you can catch up and enjoy the ride.
Don't know what to say. Wow! I really don't know what to say! What an awesome read! Brooke is the sociopath that you can't help but love. Does that make me crazy? Anyway these three books flowed together beautifully with characters who are complete. You are not left hanging at all! I only hope that just maybe a few more books might come out of this. I'd love to see where school and her new job takes her.
Interesting read. A beautiful protagonist without a scintilla of empathy or conscience I read this as a stand-alone, because the author included enough back-story from the first two books of the series. This was interesting, because the POVs are of two people with serious anti-social personality disorders. I guessed one is an innate psychopath, and the other is a violently impulsive sociopath with a modicum of empathy. The premise is intriguing, the storyline well-crafted, but I was drawn by the...
Loved this bookWhat a twisted sister. I find this Brooke character quite funny at times. The way things irritate her crack me up as I had a sister that thought like that about people. Unlike brooke, she just chose not to speak to them. The medical parts interest me as a nurse and the psych aspect is fascinating. Making this series blend so well. Twisting the whodunit kept me guessing. This is one of the best books I've read in a while. Scoring a five in my opinion. Thank you and may I have anoth...
Would not want to get the wrong side of Brooke!Came late across this series so this ended up being the first book I have read. But this did not detract from being able to enjoy this novel. Not knowing the details of her first murders but just knowing they had happened almost made this a stand alone.Enjoyable thriller and it makes a change to be rooting for the baddie!!
Twistedly good!!Great series! Completely not what I expected. I always want good to triumph over evil but I found myself continually not wanting the murderer to get caught and admiring her perseverance, intelligence and absolute confidence in her ability to always outsmart everyone else and come out on top everytime. Haha! A really fun read!
Refreshingly different! This series has been great! The writing and ability to draw you in significantly increased with each book. I read many books and often become frustrated with reading what seems to be the same or very similar story lines but this series is refreshingly different and has stood out amongst many! I usually don't leave reviews but felt this read is well worth the time. Thanks Jennifer for sharing your talent! I can't wait to read more and being a local is pretty awesome too!
I liked the first two books in this series a lot. But I LOVED this one! I couldn't stop reading and when I had to, I couldn't wait to pick it back up again. I stayed up past my bedtime, but it was so worth it.!!
Audible:Excellent! The 3rd book in this series and I can't wait for more! Brooke is working in a morgue, her dream, when all heck breaks loose over her past descrepancies. There MAY be a way to blame someone else for some of it,but she'll need to be a good actress too.Stephanie Dillard was the perfect narrator. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
This is the fist time i have one of Jenifer's books thanks to bookbub the only thing its the third book in the series which did not spoil the read , it make me want to go back and read the first two. I thought that the main character Brooke is very interesting i like the way you get a glimpse into the mind of a psychopath this book had a few twist and turns i would suggest you read the books in order unlike myself
What are little girls made ofA medical student, an overachiever and an exercise junkie. Does this girl ever fail at anything? This novel explores the mind of a girl who hides her true self from everyone. It will keep the reader engaged until the surprise ending.
This is another tremendous story in this series but the appalling mistakes in it really let it down. This is the worst-presented one of all of her stories, I would say. I've never yet given her 5* as each time presentation/mistakes have let the side down but this one really took the biscuit.....the errors this time really should've been spotted and corrected. Too many of them were the big no-no from me when an author gets her own character's name wrong and this time it happened more than once, q...
The Best So Far...I read all 3 novels and book 3 was the best! I thought for sure her character was over and so glad it is not. These reads kept me reading and wanting more. So many twists and the plot just thickens. A must read if you have not read these books!! Bravo-- you keep writing and I will keep reading !!!!
The Intern is book 3 in the Brooke Walton series, but can easily be read as a stand alone book. This book starts off with Brooke participating in a rather horrific event in Cancun, Mexico. As always, Brooke feels perfectly justified in her response to the attempted attack on her, but she does make a rather unfortunate mistake this time around which has an impact on future events in the story.Brooke is as focused and perfectionist as ever and has managed to get a great job as an intern at the loc...
The Intern - a Dark Thriller (Brooke Walton book 3) by Jennifer Ruff and Dan AlatorreI didn't really like this book. I wasn't really sure why. About halfway through I got confused about the plot, about the characters, about the author's intention. There were too many threads. But I persevered it seems so did the authors. The ripples over the second half of the book seemed to converge almost as if their typing fingers had decided where the story was going to go, and took over from their minds. Not...
Twisted ending Brooke Walton , psychopath ,goes to Cancun on vacation for four days with her family . On the first night she is restless and goes for a run. She has the rental car key . While out she runs by two young men who decide to rape her . She comes out on top of that situation with them dead and the key lost . This story becomes one of lies and more lies, however , she is smarter than everyone . Or so she thinks .
Psych! This is an entertaining read even though I didn’t read the other Brooke Walton books. Brooke is quite the evil genius, her brain always in overdrive, staying a step or five ahead of her pursuers - whether they be law enforcers or dastardly criminals. A worthwhile, and enjoyable read-it-in-a-day book.
I liked the first book Everett, I enjoyed the second book Rothaker but loved this one. I just hope the author has plans for another book!!! This book continues from where the previous books left of and I highly recommend you listen or read them before you enjoy this book. I spent the whole book wondering who was going to get killed next, was she going to finally get caught? and then got hit by an ending I didn't see coming.Brooke has finally made it through the first year of medical school and n...
