This book had my attention from page one. It is a captivating thriller full of full of twists and turns keeping you turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down. What a thrill ride. I cannot wait to read the next book. I definitely recommend this book as a must read.
If you like nail biters, pick yourself up a copy of Only One Cure by Jenifer Ruff. I am hooked on medicine and should have gone into that profession, I love to read a good medical story.I'm not into FBI and espionage but, all of that fit in well with this book and I really didn't mind it that much. This story kept me flipping the pages, sitting of the edge of my seat and for some reason not able to sleep last night. My furbaby wasn't too happy when I got back up to read! I finally had to put it
This author has gotten my attention with her novels that can take you hostage until you are finished with the last page. This one is no different with it being with alot more suspense and drama that often had my heart racing. This release also fits right in with the pandemic around us which caused even more anticipation through this one. We are first given Madeline than Quinn whom we ride with in this one that you could say at times is almost like reading a horror with the terror you can feel. I...
Dr. Madeline Hamilton is one of the best in her field and works for the CDC so she never knows when the call will come in to take her away to unknown places but this latest case is the most disturbing so far. The president of the United States' own son, along with several of his classmates, have all been affected by a neurological toxin and they're deteriorating fast. It's up to the doctors Madeline has assembled to save the lives of the children of some of the most influential people in the cou...
A good read although some plot holes. Good characters who you care about.
I received this as an ARC. I've read Jennifer Ruff books before and have loved them. Only One Cure is no different. It had me guessing right off the bat. I love the suspense that was always building. I love the personal relationship of Quinn and Madeline. I look forward to seeing their relationship develop. I would also like to know how Simone does with drug rehab. Jennifer's writing draws you in and doesn't let go. I highly recommend The Numbers Killer and Pretty Little Girls as they are great
Oh wow, I haven't discovered another author that can write like Jenifer Ruff can. This book gripped you from the very first word and boy did it take you on a ride until the very end. As you can tell I really enjoyed this book. It contained a strong cast of characters and a good plot that had you sat on the edge of your seat, wondering what the out come would be. With everything going on in the world at the moment this book covered the subject of a pandemic very well and it also contained some li...
FBI antiterror specialist Quinn Traynor and CDC epidemiologist Madeline Hamilton find themselves trying to solve a deadly plot. Madeline is trying to determine the cause of a potentially fatal disease, which has infected several teens, including the president's son. Terrorists claim they have the cure, and it's up to Quinn to track them down. This is a riveting plot with plenty of twists and turns. You'll find yourself rooting for Madeline and Quinn, while at the same time, you'll be hoping the t...
Although it is the 2nd book in a series, it can still be read as a stand alone. Liked the book. It is a page turner. Fast. After reading the 2 books in the series ( Both were free from Amazon) I decided to put Jenifer Ruff on my favorite author list. You would probably do the same after reading them both.
Overall good reading!Overall, the 2 books are worth the read within the genre. Though, if you are looking for “world ending,” apocalyptic stuff - this isn’t your story. But for an international medical mystery, which involves the CDC, the alphabet agencies, and the White House, it’s entertaining.I will warn, however. There is no deep dive into virology, bioterrorism, or medicine. Nor the inner workings of the aforementioned agencies or offices. And certainly not firearms. It’s all those things “...
I read book 2 first so had to read Book 1 as well, though could easily read either book as a stand aloneI have to say i think I enjoyed this book more than the first one. It grabs you from the start and doesnt let go until the last page.
This was a well-written and entertaining book. A mysterious illness has struck a group of soccer players after a trip to Brazil. Is the disease attacking their nervous systems a result of this trip? Or, there something more sinister at work. Considering that these young people attend an exclusive school and happen to be the sons and daughters of Senators, businessmen and the POTUS, it could even be terrorists! The CDC and FBI are called upon to solve the mystery, find a cure and discover who is b...
Teenagers developed a neurological disease after a trip to Brazil I enjoy this genre, especially when they are written by knowledgeable authors . Book 2 starring Dr Madeline Hamilton and SAC Quinn Traynor . Madeline is rushed away from their meeting to do top secret medical care and research of the teens . Careless work by the secretary of DHS, a close friend of the president causes unknown problems . The FBI becomes involved almost immediately when the cause appears man made .
I started reading it and couldn't put it down until I finished.
The President's son is dying. Terrorists claim to have the only cure. When a private plane whisks CDC epidemiologist Madeline Hamilton to Washington D.C. for an urgent medical symposium, she knows something significant is underway—but she doesn’t expect to face the most disturbing medical mystery of her career. A debilitating neurological toxin has stricken the children of several political families, and one of them is the son of U.S. President Anna Moreland. With the lives of children on the line...
CaptivatingKindle "Top picks for you" suggested this book. Hadn't read anything by this author prior. I found the plot, which involves the Presidents son and several classmates, plausible. Amazing how a medical team can come together so quickly along with the necessary components to get the job done (if only). Exciting pace that weaves in different characters underlying involvement. Ending was rather sudden, leaving reader to fill in a few gaps. Overall good read. 4.5 stars.
I love a sequel! Dr. Hamilton and Agent Traynor are together again and it is wonderful to see their relationship develop. I thought the storyline was disturbingly believable: kids lie and parents protect their children at any length. The main plot isquite timely: terrorists among us and viruses without a vaccine. I thought there was just enough medicine but it didn’t bog down in too much clinical detail. My only hang up is that it could have been longer. I would have enjoyed more interaction bet...
Terrorism, drug cartels, politics, and a dash of romance!I somehow missed the first book in this series (Only Wrong Once) and while I am sure it would have provided more of a foundation for the main characters and their relationship to each other, I never felt I was missing anything integral to this story. It can absolutely be read as a standalone (having said that, I have already gone back and purchased the first one because the writing and the characters are so good). This book has something fo...
I received an ARC copy of this book for review. As with all Jenifer Ruff’s books, it was a page turner. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I would highly recommend it for anyone that likes mysteries and medical thrillers. A mystery illness has infected the president’s son and his friends. The combined effort of Madeline Hamilton and Quinn Traynor solve things just in time. This is the second book she has written with them and the characters co to us to develop—can’t wait for the next on...
Your top priority is the safety of everyone in the United States of America. When a seemingly unknown sickness hits, how do you handle it? A president and her crack team of experts tackle this problem in Jenifer Ruff’s exciting thriller “Only One Cure”.Anger has a way of penetrating ones soul. A criminal’s soul has deep dark ideas when they get angered. Is this what happened to an entire schools soccer team? One mad person’s idea of revenge? Or is there a new strain of neurological virus hauntin...
