This is book four of the Edge of Collapse series and the author is just producing better and better books as the series progresses. This is the best book in the series so far and was just WOW! It continues with Hannah, Liam, Ghost and baby Charlotte’s struggle to trek to Fall Creek, her previous home town. Hannah was taken captive by a man called Pike and held for five years, until an EMP struck and her prison door’s electronic lock failed. She has been beaten, tortured, starved and used as his
Another great book in an already gripping series. This series is full of strong characters that you can’t help championing as they tackle things no one should ever have to. There are poignant moments that will touch your heart and have you reaching for the tissues. There are also moments where peoples weakness of character and unwillingness to see the truth will make you want to cry out in frustration.Very well written, as are all of Kyla Stones books.
Kyla Stone keeps delivering action-packed suspense and drama in the fourth book of her Edge of Collapse series. I really am enjoying how she develops her multi-dimensional characters. I'm looking forward to her next book out soon! Can't wait!
Finally! We get some resolution with Pike, it seemed to be dragging on too long. Of course when the time comes, Hannah has a TSTL moment and I wanted to bang my head on the nearest desk. Thankfully, Ghost continues to be a hero.Noah has moved from meh to total coward, Liam is about 10% less dour, Quinn is still the best character, and Bishop got the best scene in the book. I'm glad he's getting a bigger character arc. A huge showdown seems imminent.
Great follow upThis was a great follow up to the third book in the series building up to the final act. Since this book was written during a real-time crisis, there are a lot of emotions that we can all relate to. In addition, lots of tips and tricks thrown in that will perhaps benefit who desire to not be caught unawares. I do have mixed emotions about the turn some of characters have taken but am hopeful they will overcome their flaws and do the right thing in the end. However, I am still firm...
Best Book EverI don’t know how she keeps doing it, but I am glad she does. Kyla’s books just keep getting better. She doesn’t write books, she writes stories. This one is full of excitement, terror, compassion, joy and disappointment. Not only does she write good heroes, but she has a good grasp on the characterization of the villains. They aren’t the Disney type; they are the Brothers Grimm. Writing a good villain is hard. To make them multi-dimensional and not just bad guys is an art. Her desc...
Still going strong! This entry was pretty much on the level of the previous one (as far as star rating). I still had my handful of complaints and grumbles, namely with the blatantly (still-existent) predictable aspects, but nothing that was strong enough to derail my momentum or drive to finish. My enjoyment still exists, though I must admit that I'm curious if the remaining books in the series will continue to be "just shy" of where they started, or if they will lose steam and be even worse (wh...

This is another great book in a wonderful series. Definitely not a standalone, but well worth reading the whole series of books.Liam, Hannah, Ghost and baby Charlotte are still trying to reach Hannah's family in Fall Creek, Michigan. But, what will they find if they finally reach their destination? Hannah is desperate to get back to her husband and son after 5 years of captivity, but will it be a dream come true? Or, will the events of the EMP make it something less desirable?Without giving away...
AN ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING TREAT!!!Low rider! Kyla unleashes one action packed, heart pounding, pulse racing, nail-biting, spine tingling, nerve racking, page flipping bombshell, revving up the adrenaline and intensity, blasting this baby to life spectacularly. A churning vortex of intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, exposing the thrilling ups and stunning downs along with a few bumps and bruises, noting the sharp corners and sleek lines, fusing this bad boy together one jagged piece...
I liked the pacing here. It was so satisfying when she killed Pike. The story is still good enough that I want to know more.I'm having more trouble with the character of Noah. I never liked the story from the perspective of the people in Fall Creek but now it's getting worse. In the prior books his character is of a solid person doing his best under conflicting pressures. But he appears to have been hit with a stupid stick. The whole set up of the characters emotions is good and plausible. The emo...
I have read many many of Kyla Stone's books and the writing in Edge of Anarchy is without a doubt the best work she has ever done (at least of what I have read). There are paragraphs that were so well written that it took my breath away. The whole book is just superbly written. The plot of this book is easy to follow and does not do any twist. There is romance but it is kept inside each character. It does not have a lot of violence but enough to make the book exciting. Make sure you give yoursel...
The Edge of Amazing Kyla only gets better. She keeps you guessing from page to page, paragraph to paragraph, word to word! Her ability to flawlessly move from one crisis to another (usually worse) crisis w/o losing the reader is truly “Amazing!”. It is so easy to lose track or not care about the outcome unless the author is flawless in dragging the reader in and clamping on to ones thought process! There has to be more going on then pure horror to be truly frightening.Again Kyla manages to keep
*** SPOILERS BELOW ***Finally the long pursuit of Pike chasing Hannah has ended. Liam and Hannah are getting closer and I’m having mixed feelings about that. I want her with her family, but Noah is killing me. So I’m leaning more towards Liam at the moment. I know it will hurt Milo. But I think my mind is made up about Noah after this book. Your son was choked by one of the militia and he didn’t confront the guy! Am I missing something? When we got to the part with him afterwards, it was like he...
The suspense is killing me!I've been with these characters through four books now and feel quite close to them. All along you could feel the suspense building and you just knew eventually certain things were going to happen. Nevertheless, when the characters finally found themselves at the climatic point the suspense felt like it was killing me. I had a hard time - had to take breaks! That seems like the mark of a successful thriller doesn't it? When the reader holds their breath so much they ha...
High Intensity, great storytelling!!!What a ride. This had me on the edge of my seat throughout. I can’t get enough of the awesome duo, Liam and Hannah. Or should I say trio with Ghost. In the first book I didn’t really like what I heard of Noah. He kind of redeemed himself in the second book but now all I can say is that maybe my first impressions weren’t all that off. It was so cathartic with what happened to you know who! This series is truly amazing. I haven’t been so into a series for a lon...
