I healed my Arthritis  … Read on to understand and manage…
Arthritis is very common but is not well understood. Actually, “arthritis” is not a single disease; it is an informal way of referring to joint pain or joint disease. There are more than 100 different types of arthritis and related conditions. Three main types are important: Osteo-Arthritis; Inflammatory Arthritis; Metabolic Arthritis. However, Ayurveda has different perspective according to which Arthritis is a metabolic disorder. It has identified as the result of improper food habits and consumption of Virudha-Ahara or incompatible diet that causes indigestion. Ama is a toxic by-product of improper digestion. The food, which is in wrong combination, which is consumed in incorrect amount, which is consumed at the incorrect time of the day / in the wrong season or which has undergone wrong processing, can be described as Viruddha Ahara. Viruddha Ahara taken regularly could induce inflammation at a molecular level in the cells and tissues of the body, disturbing the eicosanoid pathway creating more arachidonic acid leading to increased prostaglandin-2 and thromboxane. This inflammatory effect is the key cause of all the basic pathological conditions that create Agni Mandya, Ama, and a number of metabolic disorders. Of late, there are scientific evidences, which have tried to co-relate Ama to free radicals. Free radicals are toxic byproducts of oxygen metabolism that can cause significant damage to living cells and tissues in a process called "oxidative stress." In Ayurvedic science, Vaata factor is thought to control basic bodily functions like cell division, respiration, blood circulation, heart function, mind/emotion control, and excretion. Things that can disrupt Vaata factor include eating too often, eating Virudha-Ahara, fear, grief, depression and staying up too late. When Vaata factor is imbalanced , the person becomes vulnerable to develop conditions like anxiety, asthma, heart disease, skin problems, arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Most people ask “Can yoga cure Arthritis”? My straight answer is this: “With committed efforts, change in lifestyle habits, diet corrections and regular practice of yoga, pranayama and meditation you will be surprised to see the magical improvements and almost/near-perfect cure to this painful disorder”. One must understand that Arthritis is not a disease; it is only a disorder that can be perfectly managed. Because this disorder appears due to unorganized lifestyle and unruly eating habits, it is essential to discipline ourselves in the first place and then put in place a daily routine of right lifestyle, right thinking, right diet, right exercise and right relaxation. Due to the fact that arthritis affects the mobility and debilitates our routine, efforts to reduce pain and improve motility by judicious and mindful exercise is essential. Yoga emphasizes on a balanced daily routine, which is known as “Dinacharya” consisting of Achara , Vichara , Aahara , Vihara . The science of yoga, deems it right to adopt the concept of Hita-Mita-Ahara …. Read on to know more….
Trust me, you will not regret it and will appreciate your own determination, hard work and the benefits.
