Hmm. I liked it. I think. There were equal parts of this that were sweet and sexy, and some that were a bit cringey. Piper had some pretty silly ideas in her head but she meant well. I'll probably read the next book as Durann seems like a good guy.
This was a really fun read! While this is a bit of an insta-love story, with their romance progressing greatly in the span of 24 hours, it was still riddled with plenty of warm-hearted and humorous moments. It’s hard not to love Garek, as his love and devotion to Piper and her son, Noah, is shown not only in his thoughts but also all of his actions. There are quite a few scenes where Piper will mention something in passing, and Garek will go out of his way to make that thing happen or appear, si...
4.5 Stars! This is the first book in a new series (Fated Mates of the Ferlaern Warriors) for Ava Ross and what a super sweet series start it is!I have been a fan of Ava’s since her first book (Vork), as she manages to write a story packed with humour, action, romance, and heat, while also dishing up lovable characters and hilarious culture and communication blips. Enticed by an Alien Warlord sees the introduction of a new alien race (the Ferlaern), a new planet, new creatures, and new challenges....
3 stars ⭐️ Ho hum, this book was up and down for me. I just couldn’t really connect with it, to much yapping and not enough action at times.
It's a no from me. I can't pinpoint exactly what didn't work, because it was all FINE. The writing. The characters. Whatever. But I just didn't... like it. I didn't care about the characters or their relationship, the alien species, the history of their planet.
Superb Start to a new series I must say that I really enjoyed this series! Garek and Piper had a wonderful tale! I must admit, I did not like Noah that much. He was too over enthusiastic and overbearing and as the reader I was just exhausted and overwhelmed by his character. He came on way too strongly and fast. His whining, and hero worship of Garek kind of rattled my nerves as well. He kind of totally disrespected and disregarded his mom at times and that was annoying and frustrating. That out...
This was just ok. I wasn’t wowed. The relationship was fast much faster then I think it should. I didn’t understand why Earth insisted they build in that location on an alien planet when they came their to meet men and start a new. I thought the women should have joined the claim and learned about the aliens and their ways. It was an odd plot option for me. It’s nice to have kids. I liked them all. Other characters are ok. It was some new to pass the time. Hopefully more development in the next
Not Good On the positive side I did finish reading the book, barely. On the negative side - way too much - unbelievable characters, a nonsensical unbelievable world, plot not terrible, but also not good. ***Spoiler Alert****The intro clearly says that humans received a message from the aliens. How is that possible if their culture doesn’t even have electricity? The duskhorde are another alien race who are smart enough for space travel to that planet, but they have no technology??Phobias are not s...
Surviving is not thriving Another fantastic story by this author! I love how we got to watch Piper’s transition throughout the book, and who wouldn’t fall for a guy who is willing to give it all up for his one true love. These two are an amazing couple and I enjoyed every minute of their courtship. The author kept the excitement high with a brand new world and a betrayal we never saw coming. This book is the perfect series starter and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
New story and series. Loved the characters, their strength over changes in their lives. Ava and her son Noah, flee to an exchange program that takes her away from her nasty X. She meets Garek, a leader and along with his men, protectors of the human women and children. Ava slowly accepts Garek as he gently eases under her skin. They bond but still face threats against lives and a potential new settlement. Ava grows and realizes that life can be great for herself and her son. Garek turns into a g...
A bit predictable I really enjoy a good sci-fi book, and I love fated mates, so this book super appealed to me. I have to say from the very beginning this book was definitely pretty predictable. I did think the world building was pretty decent, definitely an interesting set up, living in trees. Our Hero, Garek, is about to become a full blown warlord at the beginning of the book, and it’s made very clear that he can’t be a warlord and have a maelstrom mate, so right off the bat I figured that’s
A Warlord Fights To Claim His True Love LOVEDDDDD this book ❤️ If you’ve already read the Brides of Crakair and Driegon series, then you’ll know a bit of detail about the back story leading up to more possible mates heading to a new world filled with Ferlaern warriors. If you haven’t, don’t worry, you won’t be lost, but you will be thoroughly intrigued and want to catch up 😉 Loved the world building, and getting to meet a new group of fierce, and amazing, warriors looking for love. The romance a...
I just didn’t connect with any of the characters. There were too many things, questions, that weren’t explained or answered. Why would humans go to a new planet, with the intent of meeting, mingling and mating the people that already lived there and not ask for advice about where to build a settlement? Or what hazards there were? Or what the native’s lives were like? What their traditions were? Why the heck was the female MC so obsessed with square dancing and building a Wild West town? Why did
