**3/5 stars**I had certain expectations at the start of this book; the premise wasn't groundbreaking but it had the simplicity I needed and honestly, I had in mind that it would be a... *blushes* copulation fest. Instead, I found myself dragged into a series of adventures I didn't ask for. Like, sure, I was somewhat expecting little action because of the blurb mentioning a war but I wasn't anticipating the war to be at the forefront. It was neverending action, no respite at all and that, l.i.t.e...
Lydia has made the decision to have a baby. Sadly, or then again maybe not, the men on Earth are no long fertile which means that if she wants said baby she is going to have to look abroad for a daddy, far far abroad, like outer galaxy abroad. Enter the Xilan's who are also dying out and have a peculiarity with their ability to make babies. Lydia does everything with three best friends and she would not go ahead if they were not also going to be doing the same. Some wine and an online applicatio...
I love how the author writes, you can tell that woman has humour. But I wished there was more of a relationship building between the two MCs. I dont like the guys character at all tbh. And he speaks very "modern" for an alien...
4 stars This is one of those stories that I sit on the fence about. I finished it, but I don’t really know whether I liked it lol. It is a comical version of an alien space romance, but I felt it was trying to hard for my liking. I was amused while reading it, but it is very imaginative. But there is plenty to the story to keep you reading just don’t go in expecting anything serious 😂
Really enjoyed this humorous, steamy read by Ava.Alien Commander's Mate is a fast paced, action packed Science Fiction Romance novel. I loved the storyline and the MC's, Lydia and Gorok, both had a quirky sense of humor. Lydia wants to get pregnant and her only chance is with an alien because the males on Earth are now infertile. Gorok needs to spray his seed around, so he agrees to go with Lydia, but he's not expecting to fall for Lydia. There are a few other characters who are funny too, espec...
Fun and fast introduction to a new series. Have to say, this is a trope that I quite like... and I do like the way that Ava Ross writes.Loved all the Star Wars parallels... although, I thought T was way more C-3PO rather than R2-D2. But... hey!Loved that this was although 'sex' based had way more adventure-y stuff in it. This felt very much like an elongated prologue to the series, so I am holding out high hopes for what follows!
dnfThis is one of those books that you can see what the author was attempting but didn’t properly execute. You can see where she tried to be funny but unfortunately this book was rushed and no real connection can be made so everything fell flat
Fun but a bit bizarre. A fun Alien story. I love how kick ass they are. A couple of things needed explanation but we didn’t get one. All ends happily though!
I feel like I need to take a few mintues to let my adrenaline level drop after reading this one. I loved how the book opened by introducing us to the female and male characters who both revolve around Lydia and Gorok, the couple in book 1. The premise is that getting pregnant is very expensive if an option at all on Earth. Enter the Xilans, they need women to help with their Slaking-a fertile period that happens once every three years that throws the males into a mating frenzy for a week. Lydia
❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌h didn’t act realistic at all, when she sees the other alien guys who want to kill them she immediately gets the gun shoots them and wants to show them who’s the “boss”, further then going at them head first to fight. Excuse me, but every normal human being wouldn’t be doing that, I would run the fuck away screaming when seeing aliens with GUNS coming at me, I don’t know what she was thinking but I like it when the character is relatable and she was such a wannabe Lara Croft th...
A great story, full of heat and adventure! I read this in Kindle Vella and could not stop once I started! I loved everything about this story, from the action-packed plot to the characters that make you love them, it was all so good! I know the trope used is a common one right now, but this all felt fresh to me. I think anytime you want to creep me out with bad guy aliens, you can't go wrong with giant, evil, horny spiders. I may have nightmares about them. I'm looking forward to reading more b
This was a very well-written story by one of my favorite authors, Ava Ross. This book 1 in The Fated Mates of the Xilan Warriors Book Series was entertaining with well-thought out scenes, unique characters and realistic interactions. These characters have strong wills, interesting personalities and engaging histories. This wonderful story has the following: intrigue, twists, turns, adventure, action, danger, love, steam and a HEA. It's a fast-paced and engaging throughout.
"I went looking for an alien baby daddy."Lydia wanted to have a child... but giving it a human father wasn't in the cards given the shape of the world, so she and her friends looked into a chance to meet up with an alien, give him what he needed... and hopefully come home with the baby she'd always wanted.Gorok had waited until the last minute to go to the space station and meet a human, perhaps not his best plan if he wanted to court her and impress her first... but he was a Commander who could...
