SEALED ORDERS is the first program in the SPACE Art Education COACH CREATIVITY COLLECTION.
• The COACH CREATIVITY COLLECTION programs are a course.

Any interested person can successfully coach creativity skill in any group of students.
• It’s also good for someone who wants to be a better teacher than they are at present.
• The coaches do not even need to be artists or teachers at all.
• You could have student groups!
• SPACE Art Education programs show you how this is possible.

Treasure hunts always begin with a set of instructions.
• You only get the next instruction if the first task is correctly completed.
• This process continues and eventually the treasure is found.

Opening each of the Sealed Order instructions is very similar.
• You are given a series of small tasks.
• Each builds on the one that went before.

Carry out the seven Sealed Order instructions.
• Then the second module may then be read.

You might wonder why I have begun like this.
• Couldn’t I just write stuff?
• Yes I could.
• But then I’d be asking you to read.

This way I’m asking you to do something.
• That’s what art is like.
• It’s about doing stuff!

Doing something is a more appropriate way for understanding art than reading.
• You are introduced to the essence of SPACE Art Education right at the beginning.
• But by doing instead of reading thousands of words.

BRIEFING is next and develops a program you can use.
• In life we must deal with many problems which do not have correct answers.
• There is just a range of choices.
• How do we learn to perceive and make choices?

Other programs following Sealed Orders and Briefing reveal even more.
• Once a choice has been made there is no turning back – just more choices!
• If we know this then improved problem solving in life is the benefit.

SPACE Art Education can be used by anyone with any student.
• From pre-school to senior citizen.
• BUT to get ANY benefit your students must actually DO something!

SPACE Art Education is easy, logical, simple and planned?
• It’s not rocket science --- just plain common sense!
• You’ll be able to take the credit though.

My name is Graeme Smith, and SPACE Art Education is my creation.
• I do not intend to provide my credentials here.
• It's more important to establish credibility than credentials.

My ideas come mainly from my personal background.
• Probably I have a broader range of art experience than most people.
• But that’s another story.

What is art?
• If ART = x.
• Then x must happen every time art happens.
• Not sometimes, occasionally or even mostly BUT every time - always.

What is essential for art to exist?
• There IS an answer and it is the foundation of SPACE Art Education.
• That means the course is grounded in philosophy and so doesn’t date.

But it has been tested in real life too.
• SPACE Art Education was first developed in the early 1970’s and tested in 200 schools.
• The thinking and the practice are in harmony.
