But remember clients are the people who pay money for what you sell.
• Whatever you do, artist or anything else, you can only make a living if there are clients.
• It’s really that simple.

It might be simple but that isn’t the same as saying it’s easy.
• It’s not!

Professional artists sell artworks to people who want to buy.
• Without clients and prospective clients it is not possible to sustain a professional career.
• It will not matter how well you paint!

Your main job is to create and keep clients.
• That’s it!

Your highest priority therefore must be to build a database.
• And you can never start too soon.
• That’s because your own database will work better, for you, than anyone else's.

But you can easily spend a lot of money with little to show for it.
• It’s not just money you’ll spend; time also goes in large doses.
• But it does get easier.
• There is potential for increased sales as well!

If you think your list will be too big, think again.
• There is no such thing as a list that’s too big!

But eventually you WILL cull your list.
• That’s when you know the right people from the rest.
• That takes time and you need everyone to start with.
