"Suicide Med" is a story about an anatomy class in medical school. SM gets its name from previous events-- for the last six years one student in the anatomy class has committed suicide (@ the author-- people are hanged -- only dogs get hung). I enjoyed the was the story was written and thought each character was well developed. I hope to read more from this writer.
Wow I loved this one!! South side medical school has earned itself the nickname “suicide med” as for the last 6 years one person has commit suicide on the first year of the anatomy course. Told from different peoples perspectives this book is full of mini mysteries , it’s a real page turner.
Excellent!I really enjoyed this book right from the start. This is the second book I have read by Freida McFadden and it will not be my last, she is truly an EXCELLENT story teller. Suicide Med was a very easy and enjoyable read, a good mystery with likeable characters. McFadden did an amazing job writing from multiple characters POV and tying them in smoothly. I just have one question...what really happened to Rachael?
FascinatingThe book is written with different views of a med school class. It is sometimes hard to figure out who is being written about. It is fascinating, i just wanted to know what was going yo happen next.I sure wasn't expecting the surprises. Wow.
Kept me guessingI liked this book!! One part seems a little unrealistic and would normally turn me off form the book but I was able to get passed it and keep reading !
I think I have now read every Frieda McFadden book & not a single disappointment among them. There were the usual twists & surprises in this book. It was unique in that each section was from a different character’s point of view.
Wow. And I thought my anatomy group had issues.
So so campy, I had to keep reading this train wreck. My kind of horror cheese.
Overall impression: I liked it! It was fast-paced and mysterious. Kept me turning the pages.Pros: Again, fast-paced, easy to read, mysteries that kept me engaged and wanting to find out what happened. I always like books about medicine or medical education that are written by doctors--the shared experience is like sharing a big inside joke with an author. I also tend to like stories told from different perspectives (this book gives each of five anatomy partners a turn narrating). I think it's a
I must admit that I am not usually a fan of a story unfolding through several points of a view. However, this storyline gave me a fresh perspective of this type of telling. The mystery has a wonderful straightforward pace. Although at times repeating the same events through another characters eyes becomes somewhat tiring, overall the final reveal of the mystery was satisfying. The Author has an appealing way of making characters flawed, realistic, and believable. The reader cares about the fate o...
This is a hard review: I'm goodreads friends with the author, so I'm hesitant about what I say here. But this book was...not good. Let's start with the positive: this is a quick read. There are multiple narrators telling intertwining stories about the same period of time from their perspective, which is an interesting narrative device, filling in what seems like a subplot in the first narration. Each of the characters has different flaws, coloring their narrative slightly (although each seems to...
3.5 starsThis is a fast paced thriller, and I very much enjoyed the ride.It uses narratives from different characters to get varying perspectives on events, as well as to drive the plot forward. It's a technique I like, and it's done well here. The med students are all wrapped up in their own success or failure, so it makes the wildly differing viewpoints believable. There were lots of unexpected turns in the story, and the Epilogue was a fun wrap up.You're not going to find a lot of depth or lo...
Currently I'm on a half of this book, but couldn't resist to drop a couple of lines as a feedback. I find this crime story *extremely* interesting and intriguing. When I realised there is a parallelisation of the story from point of view of different people - I was sold straight away. Was so interesting to start with a story of one student, face a mystery, and suddenly repeat the story from another view. I Love it! It is exactly a moment when I give away my Netflix account and devote an hour a d...
I, thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved how the author uses several narratives throughout the book. I wish it hadn’t ended. There is a follow up to this book, which I plan on reading next. I hope this author writes more medical thrillers.
I LOVED this book. I would give it 6 or 10 stars if I could. I didn't want it to end.Not a traditional retelling, the story begins with a new class arriving at Suicide Med, a Connecticut medical school that has a recent history of suicides. Five lab partners come together over a corpse and the results are chillingThe story is doled out one character at a time. First we meet Heather. A young female first year medical student who feels overwhelmed, alone and outcast. She hates her roommate, misses...
Another winner by Freida McFadden! I love how all of her books are so uniquely different. This one revolves around five med students who are attending "Suicide Med" school where for the last five years, a student has committed suicide. Told from each of their perspectives, the novel shows us the rigors of med school, the race for the best grades, and the relationships in which they choose to involve themselves. All are flawed characters in some way and even though the book is dark and creepy, it...
