Twist of Luck

Twist of Luck

Ray Calabrese
0/5 ( ratings)
The Twist of Luck is an off beat, laugh out loud mystery, similar to Carl Hiaasen, Dave Barry, and Tim Dorsey. Lucky Trouble, that is his real name, hear's his horoscope, radio DJ tells him it's his lucky day. Unfortunately, Lucky meets an eighty-year-old guy, Ace - the only name he uses, who claims to be an active covert agent whose job is to recruit Lucky and mentor him. The reader will enjoy the hilarious antics of Lucky Trouble and Ace as they work to right wrongs but barely avoid police traps, Hell's Angels, and an assortment of whacky bad guys and girls. You'll have a twist of luck and overflowing humor on each corner.

Lucky Trouble is an ordinary guy, with an ordinary job, who starts an ordinary day with an ordinary cup of coffee and an ordinary piece of cold pizza. Twenty minutes later he meets eighty-year-old Ace and ordinary changes to bizarre. Lucky didn’t hear the warning sirens or see the flashing lights when Ace introduced himself, “You’re Lucky Trouble. Moe’s description fits perfectly, but what’d you expect from Moe, the guy’s a perfectionist. Like Moe told me, you’re a loser, your life’s in a holding pattern, you dress like a slob, you haven’t been laid in more than a month, and you need a good swift kick in the ass.” Lucky glances over his shoulder, “You think you’re so smart, it’s only two months.”

Ace takes Lucky on a wild, non-stop, no time to sleep ride to catch up with ninety-year-old Moe, the illusive and ubiquitous leader of a deep cover US agency. Their farcical journey includes run-ins with first responders, terrorists, gang members, honest citizens, scammers, and jammers.
