when i tell you guys i read this simply to see infinity war wanda pretend you didnt hear me <3
Almost gave this less stars but someone who knows less about the comics might enjoy it more. The first half is an adaptation of the Infinity War movie. Not bad but thats all it is. Second half gives you snippets or the original Starlin Infinity Gauntlet comics and the more recent Infinity storyline. Just partials not the whole thing.
some of the parts were just meh.
This is basically the graphic novel version of part of the movie. Artwork was fun to view. I knew the story already but I MY GRADE: C plus.
Just a moneygrab. Watch the epic movies!
I'm severely unimpressed by Marvel's decision to call this comic adaptation of Infinity War an Endgame prelude.
This trade paperback was released in anticipation of the Avengers Endgame film. It contains three parts: A complete adaptation of the film Avengers: Infinity War, a reprint of the first issue of the original Marvel series The Infinity Gauntlet from 1991, and a reprint of Guardians of the Galaxy #19 from 2015.Much like DC's Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey (reviewed here), this collection has something of a thrown-together feel to it, like Marvel was fishing for relevant material in anticipatio...
i don’t care if it’s a money grab, this is my second favorite mcu movie and seeing it as a comic was great
This was a spot in adaptation with great artwork. This graphic novel will catch you up on the events in Infinity War so you're ready for the next film installment!
If you've seen Infinity War, you already know the plod of the prelude - it's basically the end of the movie, all the way to the snap. But the great thing about this collection is that you also get the original story, Infinity Gauntlet #1, so you can see what Infinity War and Endgame were based on. As a fan, it's worth reading the original because Thanos' motivation is different and there are different Avengers involved. You also get a more recent comic, Guardians of the Galaxy #19, which follows...
Infinity War was such a long movie that it required 3 comics to summarize it rather than the standard 2 they’ve been using so far. I really liked the art style they used, and it’s a good summary if you don’t want to sit through the whole movie again. Cuts out a lot of course, but gets the basics and what you need in it. Still feels like a summary rather than a plotted out comic, but that’s never bothered me too much in any of the preludes. Where my uncertainty of rating comes from is from the tw...
Good review of Infinity War plus additional comic segments on Thanos.
Not a prelude; just a recap of Infinity War. Art is beautiful, but not worth retreading unless you want a different medium of recapping.
It was okay. I read up through the snap, but after that it was just not really the style I like. The entire infinity war part would be 4 stars, but because it had the other two sections, it's 3 stars. The infinity war section left out a few of the great memorable quotes.
Super
Okay, has 2-3 so-so stories which are a recap of the previous Avengers movie. The writing by Corona Pilgrim is adequate, the art by Paco Diaz is serviceable. But then comes the Jim Starlin/George Perez story on Thanos which is intelligent, fun, involving & readable: 5 stars. Then we have a Brian Michael Bendis piece which is almost pretty good but please, let us talk about PANEL DISCIPLINE, or perhaps SEQUENTIAL LOGIC. In that Bendis who is too fancy for his own good, always, has to use differen...
Great little preview for the new hit movie. I like a taste of the comics' story before seeing how it is handled on screen. Having both the original story and a modern adventure from the current run of "Guardians" gives a nice glimpse of characters that movie-going audiences are familiar with.
The first 3 issues were a decent review and I was impressed with the old issue of infinity gauntlet since I didn’t realize the snap and associated rationale was that old.
Was expecting to find out what the not dusted Avengers were up to in the build up to Endgame. All that I got was an Infinity War comic. The other stories after this were pretty good, however it has just made me watch to read the original Infinity Gauntlet storyline and comics.
