Does anyone else not trust the rat? I mean, I'm just waiting for something to come out regarding Rory's familiar. Maybe it's just me, but something is just not adding up right when it comes to Deborah. Anyway...So, book three. The reverse harem is slowly making ts way to the front. Rory finds herself drawn to all four of the boys- even Malcolm who she says she despises. It's interesting watching her try to navigate each boy and understand her own feelings. While two of the boys are completely on...
3-3.5 Stars. Well, I feel like from book one and the explosive beginning up until now that we are finally getting on track to find out what is really going on here. I can feel things slowly clicking into place which makes me super happy. I really love how over the course of all the books the FMC hasn't bent or bowed, shes stuck to her guns and anyone else can either follow or kick rocks. I love how she is really evidencing leadership qualities, not just some spoiled rotten wannabe junk. (cough M...
Now Im dying and I have to finish the next one right now! This one was so good! It ended on such a cliffhanger! I wasn't prepared.
I enjoyed this as much as the previous two. The RH is slowly coming together. Rory is navigating her way around the boys and her/their feelings. It's very much a slow burn but we do get more. I'm really interested in what we'll uncover about both the joymancers and the fearmancers. There's no way the joymancers are the innocants they claim to be. I just need Rory to figure that out. I'm still really not trusting Deborah, I feel something is coming.
The story continues on with rocky romances and mystery’s to unravel. Unlike a lot of extended series this one still has its hooks in me.
Wow, Eva is not pulling any punches is she?? The bullying in this one was pretty tough from a certain scion but I think things finally clicked for Malcolm and things will start to get better for Rory (in terms of the scion relationships). I thought that lake scene was so freaking hot, but what Malcolm did after....Rory's reaction was 100% justified and he better be groveling for a long time before she forgives him for all his crap. I think he was disgusted at himself and like I said...lightbulb
Rory's story continues on but this time she has a few more allies, if only she could sure she could trust them. Back at the Academy for the summer after a quick visit to her ancestral home, she is thrown back into wizard politics when the summer project involves affecting a Nary (human). She comes up with an idea that will meet the required criteria and still keep her from violating her personal code. All four of her fellow scions are also on campus and they are confusing her more than ever. Con...
Audio book review Wow this audio story will have you wondering till the end . Book 3 continues where book 2 ended . With lots of twists and a turns . Eva wrote a very strong story . Eva is a wizard with grabbing your attention and having you listen hook line and sinker. Eva wrote a story that will remind you of the university that Harry Potter went to . Some people are your friends but there is some that will try to skin you alive . The Bloodstone university is on summer break . Rory needs to fi...
Sinister Wizardry is the 3rd book in a series about a girl attending a magic academy who has to learn magic, establish a relationship team, and discover who the real bad guys are and do something about them before they take her down. This is a fantastically enjoyable series, but starts out with a few fairly nonsense things that make it difficult to wholeheartedly recommend.I’ll get into it a bit more, as to why I have some reservations about the magic system, and why I have stronger reservations...
No no no no no no no What in the actual hell! Okay, I kept on reading this series because I liked the overall story, even though I really wasn’t digging the guys. I liked Rory for the most part... UNTIL she straight up accused Malcolm of trying to rape her!! I’m sorry, you have messed with him the exact same way he’s messing with you, and then you want to pull the rape card? How the hell are they supposed to come back from that? There is no way in hell I can see them having a relationship and be...
I really am loving this series. This is the type of bully romance that I like. All of the relationships between the characters feel natural, none of them feel forced or rushed, or sluggish for that matter. I was a little worried at the start of this book that the plot was dragging and that the series was going to hit a lull, but around the 30% mark the book really started to pick up and from that point on I was riveted. Heck, I even started to like Malcolm in this book. Jude and Connar are still...
What a series I absolutely love this series. I have been reading and listening to this series and I absolutely love it so much. In this one Rory is really starting to work her magic on the guys and make them question themselves and everything that they have been taught. I just love it I really enjoy the narrators for the audiobooks, they both do an amazing job with the different characters.
I received an advance copy from the author. Spoilers from the series ahead. After the way the second one ended, I had so much anticipation for this next instalment. And in some ways, it delivered. It was consistent in terms of quality, there was genuine character development, and there were some nice little surprises along the way to complement the story. I have to say I'm liking the slow burn romance between Rory and the guys. It feels a little more genuine and blends into the story, rather than...
This was interesting. The one part I really didn't like during this book was the boat house scene, while it did serve a purpose of changing Malcolm's view towards Rory I think that there were better ways to do that instead of almost having what happened happen. Beyond that scene the rest of the book was decent and I did enjoy it. I was also still happy with the growth the guys are going through regarding their views of life, I love how they are changing to be decent humans instead of becoming co...
If you think Rory was going to get a break in this book then you are WRONG! Things do start getting better regarding her relationships with her fellow scions, however she still has to keep her wits about her. Not to mention top on her mind is learning who killed her mentor and why?!?! What doesn't help are her money thirsty paternal grandparents and the surfacing of her bio mum's supposed longtime best friend who is also a dreaded black suit. Who can she trust and who should she keep away from!
