My Thoughts On: Buffy the Vampire Slayer #81. I love that Buffy dresses up as a bat for Halloween, and I particularly love that no one can tell what her costume is. 2. All of Buffy's parental figures are at the gala, introducing themselves to each other and their partners (which I love that they use as a preferred term!), and then talking about how much they love and admire Buffy. This is perfect.3. Buffy glaring daggers at Robin, who is dancing with a girl who looks like her, is such a relatabl...
Love the cover, love this issue content. I'll have to get the Angel and Hellmouth preludes that go with this
I am loving this story so much but the way the faces are drawn in this new arc is so not my jam and it's making it hard to keep reading 😭
Excited to love into the hellmouth storyline this issue sets up! Bummed about the artwork 😔
I’m ready for what this issue is setting up!
Story is a 4 but the art .....
Ok I’m done. This reads like fanfiction. I’m going to pretend I never read any of it.
Spike and Dru crashing Giles' and Jenny's date to an Egyptian artifact exhibit is truly all your girl has ever wanted in life
There seems to be no forward momentum, just spinning their heels for the big crossover event... and seriously, the connection with Willow and Xander needs a better more through explanation... kudos to the person who wrote in asking if the art team would be changing, good way of not coming straight out and saying the suck hairy balls (which they do.) Sadly for us, they are sticking around. EYES AREN'T THAT FAR APART PEOPLE AND GILES SHOULDN'T LOOK LIKE A WEIGHT LIFTER!!!
Weird art still but it’s working. Will probably stop reading if they fridge Jenny again, or Joyce’s partner too. In a world full of magic you have tons of ways to generate conflict beyond punishing families of heroes (Xander is proof of that! Normies need a chance too). Very into the plot, and big GULP at where it’s going.
It’s about to go DOWN
I had to laugh, Angel finally showed up and was his usual pre-dating Buffy self by which I mean he gives her advice (that's usually sound) and then makes some dry a-hole comment that makes you laugh (bats don't have tails Buffy). Also there are more changes that I like (Giles and Jenny actually being together more than 5 seconds and actually being partners) to these comics that make them fun to read and a little more recent.
Read in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Vol. 2: Once Bitten.
Still can't get used to the art style... I had stopped reading months ago because of it, picked it up tonight... and yeah, the art style is ruining it for me.
This issue didn't wow me at all really. Especially compared to the pre-hellmouth Angel issue, this was a bit disappointing. For a while now the artwork hasnt been fantastic, but this issue the story wasn't great to match.Let's see what the crossover has to show
An issue that mostly focuses on Joyce and Giles! Weird but kinda cool. Also Angel in a pig mask is hilarious. And Spike getting stabbed is wild as hell! I hope he's alive. 😮
Things are getting serious ! I still like this reboot a lot. Surprises all around, references to other whedonverse stuff, plot twists... Fun fun fun !
Finally some more progression on Dru's evil plan! I loved Giles, Jenny, and Joyce in this as well. And Buffy and Angel finally (sort of) meet!
Well that didn’t go in any way I was expecting.
Oh hey, I forgot that this comic actually (kind of) centers on Buffy, what's up, girl, how you doing? (OH NOT GOOD)
