Nice read especially the ending, new author to me I will look for mor of them ! Thanks lovely read
Poor human resource department. Well - Nick, Anna, Frank, Denise, Mel & Jack were doing their duty attending an evening event, not what they would have chosen, but PR was a necessary evil.CC Morrison came over and introduced them to the new DCS. Andrew Forbes. They all hoped for an improvement on the two previous holders of that post both phsycopaths.Hands were shaken, but Forbes was full of himself, somewhat patronising, coming across as one not to doubt himself. No opinions were discussed regard...
Disappointing and predictable I was so very disappointed with Bamburgh. So predictable. When I first started reading this series of books, they were excellent. The plots were intricate, twisting, clever – nothing rushed. Character and plot development were key to keeping the reader engaged. The last three or four books have been lacking in all of that.It seems to me that the L J Ross, perhaps due to the pressure of fans and publishers, is being pushed with getting the next book out as quickly as...
So, where do I start? Another fabulous book in the DCI Ryan series - number 19! I genuinely cannot explain how excited I get when there is a new book published and I can have my DCI Ryan fix. I really enjoyed reading this and I devoured it. An extremely fast paced whodunnit full of so much suspense.I was so engrossed in the storyline and thoroughly enjoyed reading more about DC Melanie Yates, getting more of an insight to her and her past involving the disappearance and death of her twin sister....
This is the 19th novel in the series; I’ve read each of them. I truly feel as if I know these familiar characters. The two Murder plots are interesting- but I believe that the love and connection between the main characters makes this book so enjoyable. Recommend it. And I’ll be waiting for book 20.
why is it that i can never put these books down? i love the dci ryan universe - the characters, the plots, the world building .. the list goes on .. unfortunately, i just can’t rate this 5⭐️ — here we have a 3rd DCS that is corrupt (you learn this yourself from chapters from their perspective) and it just feels like the same plot is being recycled over and over again. i’d love to see a book that doesn’t focus on past enemies coming to “attack” the found-family they have built between them.. ever...
The story of MelI have read every book by LJ Ross. They have all been marvellous. I know the areas where they are set, having lived close by over thirty years ago.Police procedural/crime/murder my favourite genres with history and archaeology added - another two subjects I love.In this book the new DCS arrives. After the horrors of the previous two surely the team is due a third time lucky with Andrew Forbes. He arrives as DCI Ryan and his team are working to identify the prolific serial killer
Bamburgh is another excellent read in the DCI Ryan series. Honestly, these books just get better and better. I love catching up with Ryan, Frank, and the team. They are such a lovable bunch. I know I’ve said it many times before, but I do talk about them like they are real people. I have recently got my Mum-in-law addicted to these books also and she feels the same. We chat about them together now. My husband thinks we’re a bit nuts. Lol! It is my mission to convert everyone (who isn’t already)
I’ve enjoyed all the DCI Ran books and look forward to the next one in the series. I did find this one a bit disturbing to begin with as we knew straight from the start who the serial killer was but it worked out well to conclude Mel’s story. I look forward to the next in the series and to whose story it may be about. The family connection between all the main characters are great and I just love Frank and his family. He’s going to more than protective when Samantha gets a bit older and I also w...
