This one was fun in a dark adventure shell. The main characters got quite some good chemistry and enough bravery to follow their instincts. Sure there is some way to travel to a happy finish line but for now and the big brother on his way, I am optimistic.
Love this new series!💖💖Altrez has come to Folsom to find his older brother and break him out of prison. He gotta himself captured only to find out too late that his brother has escaped and is roaming the deadly prison planet. While formulating his escape he's given a beautiful human female that is a complication he doesn't need but a life he can't resist. Lori getting her life together and starting a new exercise regime one minute the next abducted by aliens and given as a prize to an inmate on
It's not your typical prison love story!I am loving the characters in this series so much, I love the variety of emotions they show. Although I'm looking forward to the next brother's book, this one had me hoping that it doesn't fall into a formulaic rut. The characterizations are enough to set the stories apart, for now, but the arcs are closely aligned and could use some shaking up. The story flowed well, but I had to fight the deja vieux feeling with some of the scenes. The love story fell in...
Altrez is in the alien prison, Folsom, to figure out what happened to his bother Riker, from the previous book. Lori on the heels of a bad breakup is kidnapped from Earth and is in the prison to be a prize for the Wardens twisted fight club. Altrez sees Lori and he fights to win her. Just like in book one I was sold on Lori and Altrez’s instalove. I loved how Altrez protected her from the cameras but was Alpha Bossy in the bedroom (or cell). This was a great mix of humor from Altrez, steamy sex
We're back on Folsom Planet, this time with Riker's brother who is a very off-the-cuff sort of dude. As in, Altrez kinda has a plan, but winging it sounds so much better. Okay, okay. Maybe he isn't quite that bad. But he does tend to follow his gut and go with the flow A LOT.Which worked in this instance since it allowed him to lay claim to Lori (which isn't as creepy as it sounds since Altrez is both a nice guy and the alternative for Lori was much, much worse) and figure out how to get the two...
I liked book 1 better as I felt more of a connection between the heroine and hero.SPOILER SPOILER SPOILERThe hero goes to prison so he can look for his missing brother. The day he gets there, a different prisoner hints he has a way out. He tells the hero because he wants a chance to be with the hero's woman. So they escape to the forest and find his brother and his brother's mate. He left a message before he decided to go to prison so their oldest brother would know where they are.Oldest brother...
I truly believe Ms. Phillips enjoys torturing her readers with these endings! I thoroughly enjoyed this book as much as book one. S'quent has my interest and I hope to learn more about hum, or maybe he'll get his own book (fingers crossed!) This is practically Insta love, but the story is easy to follow and interesting. The characters are original (and some are brutal.) It's great seeing the softer side of brutal aliens and Altrez pulls off brutal and caring seamlessly, almost at the same time.
What a story!Altrez arrives on the prison planet only to find his brother, Riker, is not at the pick-up location. Rogue that Altrez is, he gets himself into some very tricky situations trying to find out what happened. I love that he finds a mate of his own (Lori) in the process. Yes, they finally find Riker, but oh, the tribulations on the way! This is a splendid book, leaving me wondering if they’ll ever leave this danger-filled planet. Enjoy!
Altrez is absolutely determined to get his brother back no matter what. He's always that great on plans and following them though. Despite any, and all the bickering, fighting and difficulties as he's grown he's realised that this brother was doing it all out of love. A strange, restrained kind of love but love none the less. He will not abandon him now and so he sets his sights on getting him out of a prison he shouldn't be in. Only to find that his brother is not there any more and he is now p...
Funnier then the last , what a treat !!!This book made me smile , and laugh, and laugh some more !!! I thought it was funnier then the first book of this series , and I am looking forward to the next !!! In this book we meet Altraz, Riker 's brother from the previous story. He has come to save his brother , but in order to do that, he nerds to find out what happened. And in order to do that, he has to gain access to where Riker was : Folsom prision. How he gets there had me laughing , and then ,...
I'm giving this 3.75*. I like the chemistry and the overall story of Lori and Altrez a lot better. He's sassy, loves to laugh, he's funny, sexy and more adventurous. So he comes to Folsom prison to find his brother (to rescue him) and they give him the prize, a human female Lori, if he'll fight to win; again, he has to protect her and keep her safe for them to not take her away. They eventually manage to escape the prison walls and find the village where Riker and Amanda stay. They decide to bui...
Lori is kidnapped and taken to a prison in outer space. She is used as a bargaining chip. The big red alien with horns gets her and can keep her as long as he wins the fights. He loses, she goes back to the warden. No one wants that. Once she realizes that he means her no harm, she goes along with his plan - better the devil you know than the devil you don't. Altrez keeps her safe from the other inmates and guards. Slowly she begins to trust him and maybe more.Altrez doesn't need the complicatio...
Pseudo HEA like the first book in this series. It ends with Altrez and Lori safe in the village with his brother, Riker, but still on the Prison Planet. While this book is well written, the world and characters could have been fleshed out a bit more. At 150 pages or so, I am not convinced that is it worth the asking price for any of the 3 books so far in this series. While entertaining and smoking hot romance scenes, it does seem rushed. All the characters so far are likeable but could be so much...
