Chosen to Dominate

Chosen to Dominate

Ryan J. Call
2/5 ( ratings)
Chosen to Dominate is a fast-paced tale of betrayal and survival that pits teenagers Kirstin and Marcus and their enigmatic teacher, Sayn, against murderous traitors in a harsh wilderness setting made even more dangerous by the fact that their hunters possess the magical ability to kill with a touch.

The world burned—or most of it did—in nuclear fires fueled by the rage, envy, and hatred that had festered in the hearts of much of mankind. That event, known as World War III, happened two-hundred years ago, but the Time of Anarchy lasted for ages, destroying survivors’ settlements wherever they dared spring up, for little remained in the way of untainted resources, and few but the most resourceful, the strongest, or the most vicious survived. But then an order of magic users called Soothers took control and brought peace and order, for they had the power to cleanse the land of lingering toxins and to heal injuries and cure illnesses, and people no longer had to fight amongst themselves to survive.

So, when Kirstin and Marcus are chosen to become new Soothers, they leave their simple lives in their small villages and travel to the Soothers' enclave—a subterranean fortress built in the Rocky Mountains of a land once called Idaho—eager to learn to wield magic in order to better the lives of their families and friends.

However, evil lurks even in the hearts of Soothers, and Kirstin and Marcus won’t enjoy peaceful lives improved by their newfound magical ability. In fact, they’ll be lucky to survive, for traitors destroy the order, seeking power and control, and they hunt Kirstin, Marcus, and Sayn, eager to eliminate all witnesses of their foul treachery.
